The starting point is opposite the town hall in a small car park behind the tourist information sign.
(S/E) Head towards Landresse (west). At the junction, turn right onto Rue de la Tannerie towards the orientation table. Leave the village via the road, leaving Rue de Chaucheux on your right and following Rue d'Ormont (yellow and blue markings).
(1) At an intersection, take the road that climbs to the right.
(2) About 200 metres further on, turn left onto the stony path that passes behind a farm, towards the Grotte des Bougeottes. Cross the pasture before entering the forest via a narrow path.
(3) At the T-junction, turn left. Continue on relatively level ground for about 800 metres. Then turn right to climb up to the Ormont plateau.
(4) Turn right, then curve left to go around the Jacquet Farm.
(5) Come out onto a road and follow it to the right. After 200 metres, take a wide path on the left. At the end, turn left again and walk along the forest. Cross a clearing and follow the marked forest path downhill.
(6) At Combe d'Armont, turn right onto a path with large, rough stones (2019). Walk along the pastures, then head back into the forest.
(7) Turn left towards the Grotte des Bougeottes.
(8) At the crossroads, turn left, then take thefirst left again to reach the cave. Retrace your steps back to the crossroads.
(8) Continue straight ahead (east-northeast). The path turns right and then opens onto a wider path: follow this to the left. At the next crossroads, turn right and follow the yellow and blue markings that zigzag through the forest.
(9) Turn right just before the antennas. Pass in front of a drinking trough, then cut across the fields to reach the Ormont plateau.
(10) Take a small road and follow it to the left for 2 km.
(11) At the car park, climb up to the right to reach the first orientation table, which overlooks the village of Laviron and the Alps.
(12) Continue east-northeast to reach a second orientation table, which this time will allow you to admire the northern part of the landscape.
(13) Leave the viewpoint by descending towards Laviron (south-southwest), crossing woods and pastures. Take a sharp left turn to descend to the road.
(14) At Petit Laviron, turn right onto the street that passes in front of the tennis courts and Laviron pond. At the church, follow the D31 to the right until you reach the town hall (S/E).
