La grande escapade de Donzy

Park on Place Gambetta and walk to the square between the square and the bridge.

(S/E) Head to the far end of the square to take the boardwalk through the wetland. At the end of this, turn right onto Route de Colméry. At the junction with Place Gambetta, turn left (Route de Cessy) and, at the junction at the end of the road, turn right onto Rue des Remparts.

(1) At the first junction, turn left onto Rue des Forges. Just before the next junction, turn right and take the steps. Cross the road and turn left (the Moulin de l'Île site is on the right). When you reach the narrowing of the road, turn right to cross the Nohain.

(2) After crossing the second branch of the Nohain, turn immediately left and keep left along the riverbank. Move away from the riverbank on the right, following the path, and you will reach Rue André Audinet.

(3) Turn left, then, at the junction, turn left again onto Route de l'Abbaye.

(4) Take the green corridor on the left just after the sign indicating the entrance to Donzy-le-Pré. Continue straight on at the first junction. Make the first turn left then right at the second. Keep going straight until the end of the green corridor.

(5) Turn left, cross a river and then a stream, and take the right-hand bend. Follow the white gravel path to the Cabets water point.

(6) Retrace your steps along the same route.

(5) Do not take the greenway again, but continue straight on along the road. At the entrance to the hamlet of Lyot, continue straight on along the path. At the end of the path, turn left. At the junction, turn right to reach Donzy-le-Pré via the road. Continue straight on and pass in front of the Saint-Martin du Pré chapel.

(7) Continue straight on and pass the Notre-Dame du Pré Priory.

(8) At the junction by the cemetery, keep to the right and walk alongside it. Continue straight ahead. You will come to a large crossroads just past the alley.

(4) Continue to the right onto Rue André Audinet.

(3) Continue straight ahead. At the end of the stadium, turn left into a small square and take the narrow path called La Sente des Cheumiées, to the left of the wash house. Once on Rue du Général Leclerc, turn left and take the first street on the right (Rue du Point du Jour). At the second bend, take Chemin du Commandeur on the right and follow it to the end.

(9) Turn left onto Rue du Général Leclerc. Turn right at the war memorial to reach the town hall square. At the end of the square, go down the steps. Continue straight ahead. At the end of the street, turn left (Rue Andre Audinet). Pass in front of the wheel of the Moulin de Maupertuis to reach Rue Notre-Dame.

(10) Turn right and cross the Nohain. Just after the bridge, turn left. Continue straight ahead, then turn left. Pass Place de l’Escapade and the media library to reach Boulevard d’Osmond.

(11) Turn right, then left to reach the square at Place Gambetta (S/E).
