The route starts in front of the nursery school on Rue des Bourgades. There is ample parking in the car parks provided.
(S/E) Take Chemin des Issards. Head uphill, pass under the railway bridge, then past some social housing. Follow the Canal de Pierrelatte, cross it to reach a junction with a metal cross fixed to a stone column.
(1) Follow Chemin de Goureou to the left until you reach No. 534 at a left-hand bend.
(2) Turn onto a small path that starts on the right. The path leads onto a wide track.
(3) Turn left onto it and begin an easy climb to the summit.
(4) At the junction of wide paths, take the one on the left, which follows the ridge, heading west. Continue along the wide path until you reach another junction of several paths.
(5) Continue along the wide path as it climbs. Do not go down to the left. The view is magnificent. When you reach a ‘no entry’ sign, continue along the path, ignoring the path that descends to the left. The path will slope slightly to the right and lead to the Chapel of Saint-Baudile.
(6) The descent towards the fortress begins. The view over the Rhône valley opens up on the right. The path passes in front of the fortress, which is open to visitors.
(7) Continue down the concrete road, which is very steep. There are picnic tables here. You will reach the cemetery and its church. Further on, cross the railway line and continue the descent through the narrow streets of Mornas. Once at the bottom, turn left and follow Rue des Bourgades to the car park (S/E).
