From Saint-Vallier-de-Thiey, take the Route Napoléon and stop on the right just after the Nans bridge. Park in the car park immediately on the right.
(S/E) From the car park, climb the track that leads to the Maison Forestière de Nans and turn right at the first intersection (IGN map is incorrect here). Cross the stream on a concrete footbridge and climb up to your right (Nans trail). The track turns sharply to the left and passes a magnificent old beech tree trunk surrounded by a wooden fence. Continue along the track, leaving the Nans trail which descends to the left. Climb up to a fork.
(1) Turn right and continue climbing until you reach the Vieux Chemin des Canaux coming from the Col du Ferrier.
(2) Take the hairpin bend to the left and follow this beautiful path through the trees. Cross a stream that descends steeply, then ignore the fork that climbs to the right to reach marker 128, about a hundred metres further on.
(3) Take the small path that descends to the left in a hairpin bend. Descend to the bottom of the valley and cross the stream to reach marker 127.
(4) Turn left. On the left, take a look at the old wooden bridge over the river and continue down the track, leaving the forest house on your right. Pass marker 66 and an old small covered well on the left. Continue down the track until you return to the car park (S/E).
