Parking: coming down from Fournet-Blancheroche, at the bottom of the D464, on the left, by the lake, before crossing the Doubs. Signposting: yellow-blue, white-red, then Swiss signposting, yellow diamond.
(S/E) Head towards the back of the car park, towards the starting point of the hiking trails. The signpost is slightly hidden by foliage. Head back up towards the departmental road via the path on the left (towards La Rasse). Cross it and continue along the beautiful path opposite, which runs along the riverbank for over a kilometre.
(1) At the La Rasse restaurant, cross the river via the footbridge over the dam and turn left onto the small tarmac road (towards Belfort).
(2) 400 metres further on, turn right onto Chemin du Dos d'Âne and immediately, at the signpost, continue uphill to the right along the stony path (towards La Belle Roche), leaving a log staircase on your left. A hundred metres further up, continue climbing along the path on the right, which is a little grassy but quickly becomes a magnificent trail passing under some beautiful rocks. There is a steep climb, which is not really helped by the log steps at the beginning. After a long and superb passage under the rocks, turn left.
(3) You will come to a signpost and a beautiful gravel road, which you follow to the left. Soon, between the fir trees, you will see a view of the valley.
(4) You will arrive at a beautiful house typical of the Pélard region, the remains of a hamlet of seven houses. Walk around it. There is a picnic table. As you leave the enclosure, you will see the signpost on your right marking the start of a beautiful winding path that climbs up to Roche Guillaume.
(5) At the small paved road, continue climbing up the trail on the right, which will take you to the viewpoint overlooking the valley below.
(5) On the way back, continue down the small paved road towards the Bas des Brandt meadow. There is a beautiful view of the valley on the French side, the cliffs and Fournet-Blancheroche with its bell tower.
(6) Halfway to the farm, enter the pasture on the right (towards Cul des Prés) through the gate in the fence. Climb diagonally up the field, passing in front of a wooden hut. You will enter a beautiful pine forest and descend along this well-marked path.
(7) You will come to a path perpendicular to a signpost. You can turn right for a round trip to the Étang du Cul des Près (just for the name), located 200 metres away, or turn left immediately towards Biaufond. The path becomes a trail that forks at the foot of a warning sign about the risk of thunderstorms. Continue downhill to the right towards the Combe de Biaufond.
(8) A magnificent descent through the Gorges de la Ronde, the highlight of this hike, in this wild gorge framed by high, superb rocks, a world of stones, moss and ferns. Three ladders to climb down, pontoons to cross and stairs clinging to the rock require caution.
(9) After the stairs, the path forks; continue downhill to the left, following a backwater, home to ducks.
(10) At the lake, turn left over the small bridge, then cross the Doubs again via the footbridge to return to the car park (S/E).
