Park in the car park next to the playground in the hamlet of Saint-Martin.
(S/E) Head towards the centre of the village on the old imperial road, crossing the bridge. Turn right onto the Leman-Chamonix Greenway. Cross the Arve again at the next bridge. Join the crossroads of the old imperial road.
(1) Turn left, pass in front of the church and then over the Reninges torrent bridge. Shortly afterwards, you will reach the junction with the signposted Arpenaz waterfall trail.
(2) Take it on the left, reach the Arve river, follow it on the right until you reach thethird Lac des Ilettes.
(3) Walk along this lake, with the Arve on your left, until you reach its northern end.
(4) Continue straight ahead to follow the Arve again, cross the Luzier torrent via the bridge and continue straight on until you reach the Route de Luzier crossroads.
(5) Take care when crossing this road. Continue straight ahead, still following the Arve river. You will reach the confluence of the Arve and the Arpenaz stream. Turn right and now follow the Arpenaz stream. You will reach the junction with Route Impériale.
(6) Continue straight ahead, crossing the stream to reach the Arpenaz waterfall.
(7) Return to the previous crossroads.
(6) Continue left on Route Impériale, then turn left at the first crossroads. Enter the woods and head for the car park. Continue south, staying on the right-hand path at the next crossroads. Leave the forest at the hamlets of Luzier.
Cross the hamlets following the mountain bike trail to the Lizier stream, then cross the stream.
(8) After the stream, the path is closed by municipal order. Turn right to descend and rejoin the Route Impériale.
(9) Take it to the left until you reach thethird Lac des Ilettes
(10) Take the path on the right which goes around the lake to the east. Return to the crossroads you passed earlier.
(4) Turn left, heading south, onto the path running alongside the lake and the Arve river, and you will come back to the crossroads you passed on the way there.
(3) Turn left to reach thesecond Lac des Ilettes. Go around it, keeping it on your left, and continue along thefirst lake. You will then come to the Route Impériale at its southern end.
(12) Turn right and return to the initial crossroads.
