Access: On Avenue du Minervois, which crosses the village, at the wash house, go down Rue Joseph Sicard for about 100 metres. At the bottom, there are a few parking spaces.
The hike is marked with a yellow line. There are a few signs along the way, but unfortunately some of them are no longer legible.
(S/E) Go up Rue Jean Sicard and cross Avenue du Minervois. Take the second street opposite, slightly to the left, Rue de la Terralbe. Continue immediately to the left and then to the right. At the end of the street, take the narrow path that branches off to the right just after the last house gate, then follow the main path (north-northwest, marked in yellow), ignoring the paths branching off to the sides.
(1) At the Grotte du Figuier, turn right and continue east-northeast, ignoring the paths on both sides. At the end of the path, take the wider path that comes in from the right.
(2) At the end of the straight road and before reaching the bend, there is a cave (not marked on the map) on the right: go there and back (see the route). Continue north on the wide path and, after about 100 metres, leave it for a path on the right. Take a look at the drystone shelter (information board). Descend the hairpin bends (take care in wet weather) and pass a viewpoint. At the end of the hairpin bends, take the log steps that climb up to the right.
(3) At the Roy quarry, continue south-east, then turn right and head for the car park.
(4) The plateau with a statue of Aeolus (very stylised) offers a beautiful view of the plain. Continue south-west.
(5) After passing the lion statue on your right, take a dirt track on your left. Keep right until you reach a crossroads with a wayside cross. Turn right onto Chemin du Vieux Cros, which leads to the finish (S/E).
a magnificent, easy hike that can be enjoyed with the whole family
