Park in the small car park by the church in Plavilla. If necessary, a large car park is available at the town hall and village hall, 250 metres away.

(S/E) From the blacksmith’s workshop (welcome sign), head east along the small road with your back to the cemetery.

(1) At the Fork in the road, if you’d like to see the windmill up close, turn right towards Le Brougal. Walk up the hill and take the path on the left which leads to the foot of the windmill.

(2) Retrace your steps.

(1) Follow the small road on the right called Chemin de la Fajolle. Go downhill, cross a stream and head back up the other side.

(3) Leave the road and turn left onto a wide, hard-packed track. Follow this track straight on (north) and pass the foot of the Pech de la Poude on your left. After a climb, the track turns right (east) towards the hamlet of Pech d’Acou (signposted).

(4) Turn left onto the small access road. At the junction, turn right onto the road closed to coaches. Cross the ford over a stream and head up the other side on the same road.

(5) When you reach a farm, carry straight on. At the junction, turn right and walk past the town hall (which can serve as a starting point for the route). Immediately ignore a road on the right and, after about a hundred metres, turn left onto the charming little Chemin de Ronde. Walk round the church on the left (at the blacksmith’s workshop, take a look at the church façade).

(6) Turn left towards the mill and head down towards the pond. At the bottom, keep to the right and walk along the pond until you reach a lovely viewpoint overlooking the village.

(7) Retrace your steps back to the town hall and then to the farm.

(5) Take the path leading down to the left. Further on, the path turns left and passes between fields. After a left-hand bend at the corner of some greenhouses, you’ll come out onto a small road.

(8) Follow the road to the right. At the end (a place called Laguzou), turn left towards Terraguère.

(9) After about 150 m, turn right onto a hard-packed track. Cross a stream and you’ll immediately come to a water intake.

(10) Then take the track on the right. Head uphill between the fields and into the woods, ignoring a track coming from the left. After leaving the woods, you’ll reach a crossroads just before the Pelouse farm.

(11) Turn right and follow a very grassy track (tractor wheel tracks in the grass). Cross a stream and head uphill along the edge of the woods.

(12) At the entrance to the woods, turn left to climb to the top of Pech de la Calvie. Then veer right and follow the ridge line straight ahead (north-west). Enjoy the view and take in the moorland landscape.

(13) At the end of the path, follow a small road to the left.

(3) Turn left, head downhill, cross the stream you crossed on the way out, and head back uphill.

(1) Head slightly to the right to return to Plavilla Church (S/E).
