The walk starts from Gazeran station, coming from Paris Montparnasse station on line N towards Chartres.
(S/E) From Gazeran station, walk along the car park and head towards the station building.
(1) At the stop sign, turn left onto the D62, go past the roundabout and continue straight on with the transformer on your left. After the Route du Bray on your right, continue for about 200 metres until you reach a fork in the road.
(2) Turn right onto this path through the woods until you reach a road. Turn right onto Rue de l’Eglise and pass in front of the Saint-Germain d’Auxerre cemetery.
(3) Cross the River La Guéville then the herringbone car park on the right. At the monument in the small square, turn right onto Chemin du Général Humbert, which climbs slightly with the GR® 1 - GR® 655 and leads to the hamlet of Guéville.
(4) At the fork in the road, continue straight on between woods and fields.
(5) At the entrance to the hamlet of Guéville, continue left on the GR®655. Reach the D906 and follow it to the right until the next junction.
(6) At the junction, turn left between fields and woods and arrive at a second reservoir. Pass in front of the sewage treatment plant then turn left onto a road leading to the D906.
(7) Head slightly to the left and cross it. Continue all the way to the right along the Route de la Grille de Guéville. Pass the Bergerie Nationale equestrian centre, then the former Mocquesouris Forest House, and continue to the car park at the Laiterie de la Reine junction
(8) Turn right onto the Allée Verte, following the canal to the far end of the park.
(9) Turn left onto Allée des Bois Blancs, then a little further on turn right and follow the edge of Rambouillet Castle Park, exiting via the roundabout.
(10) After the Felix Faure roundabout, turn right onto Rue Chasles, cross the railway bridge and continue for a few metres.
(11) Turn right onto Rue des Eveuses towards the Leisure Centre. Pass a junction and then a roundabout.
(12) Go under the N10 and continue straight on along Route des Eveuses. Walk past a car park then enter the woods.
(13) Cross Route des Places, then Route de la Droue, and continue to the pond.
(14) At the Etang d'Or, turn right onto Rue du Château d'Eau with the GR®1 and follow it to a road. Turn left at the junction by the car park, then enter the woods on the right and leave the GR® 655 a little further on. Turn right onto a footpath.
(15) At Route de Batonceau, turn right and continue to the D936.
(16) Turn right onto Rue de la Droue and cross the bridge over the N10.
(17) At the roundabout, take the second left. Pass in front of a pond, follow the N10 for a short while, then turn right into the fields. At the three-way junction, keep right to reach the D150, which you should continue straight on until you reach the entrance to the woods.
(18) Leave the D150 and turn right into the woods. At the Mare du Cheval Blanc crossroads, go straight on, then turn right at the Carrefour de Poyers.
(19) Enter the hamlet of Batonceau, cross through it and continue across the fields towards the water tower.
(20) Turn right onto the road to the water tower, then at the right-hand bend, turn left towards Gazeran station (S/E).
, I’ve been hiking in the area; the GR 655 West doesn’t seem to pass through point 6.
