From Flaujac, take the Route du Fort de Florac and park in the car park at the junction with a wayside cross, beside the stream (at the corner of house no. 22).
(S/E) Walk into the village and head for Place du Fort.
(1) Cross the square, then turn right, go through the archway and join a small road. Ignore Rue du Trafort and continue left until you reach the farm on your left.
(2) Walk to the left of the livestock buildings, following the perimeter fence. Climb up the hillside along a dirt track that once served the terraces. Wade across a small stream, continue the climb through the woods, then follow an old path lined with low stone walls. Reach the plateau, then continue along an open farm track until you reach the small road to Plô de Masse.
(3) Turn right and walk 400 m to the junction with the private road to the Tour de Masse (beautiful views of the tower, a former monastic barn and a granary tower with machicolations dating from 1453; not open to visitors).
(4) At the crossroads (note the wayside cross), turn left onto a dirt track lined with box trees. Walk down into the valley, continue left through the box trees and head back up to the little Route de Carbonnelle.
(5) Follow it to the left for 50 m and take the wide farm track on the left for 500 m. Walk down to the three-way junction (elevation 501).
(6) Continue to the right. Walk down the hillside for 1.5 km across the old terraces overlooking the valley (beautiful views of Espalion and Calmont-d’Olt Castle) and reach the Ferrandès farm.
(7) Turn onto a narrow sunken track between the barn and a house and follow it for 300 m. You’ll come out onto a small service road; follow it to the right until you reach the first junction.
(8) Turn 90° to the left onto Rue de Flaujac and follow the small, level road running alongside the terraces and then the cemetery. Reach Flaujac, keep to the right through the village and arrive at the junction at Place du Fort.
(1) Continue to the right and head for the car park by the stream.
