Description of the walk

Park near Tronquoy church.

(S/E) Head north, then north-east, following the signs for "Sainte-Marie Chevigny" and leave the village towards the Marnau bridge.

(1) Then take the forest track on the right for one kilometre until you reach the tarmac road. Turn right towards Respelt Farm.

(2) At the entrance to the hamlet of Respel, at the crossroads, take the dirt track on the left, passing the barn on your left, and continue across the meadows to the stone path through the pine forest.

(3) Turn left as you head down this stone path. Follow it for two kilometres.
(4) Take the dirt track on the left for about fifty metres. Then turn right onto the stone path and pass a hunting lodge.

(5) Stay amongst the tall trees as you turn left. Then follow the pre-Ravel path for about 2 km.

(6) Head slightly to the right onto the pre-Ravel path, the former Libramont-Bastogne railway line. A green ‘Point Nœud’ sign with the number 74 is located here. Continue straight on towards the village of Bernimont.

(7) At the photo exhibition and picnic table, turn sharply left to join the road; the tunnel is behind you. Head right towards the village exit. Turn onto the stone path to the right of the speed bump, near the wooden structure of a shed.

(8) Stay on the path, turning left, then enter the forest. Turn right as you head down towards the clearing. There is an unobstructed view ahead of you.

(9) Take the dirt track on the left and follow it to the edge of the woods, where you’ll reach a tarmac road. Turn right. You’ll see Tronquoy Church in the distance. You’ll arrive at Marnau Bridge (picnic table).

(1) Retrace your steps along the route you took on the way out to reach the church (S/E), following the road into the village. You’ll pass a wooden yurt on your left.
