The Huveaune in Roquevaire

The starting point is the Saint-Roch bus stop on bus route No. 8. If travelling by car, park in the town centre.

(S) Follow the D96 to the left (south) towards Aubagne. At the junction, turn right onto Avenue Elsa Triolet. Pass the gendarmerie on your right and continue to a sort of roundabout with the Collège Louis Aragon bus stop. Carry on straight ahead, go through the barrier and head down the ramp towards the Huveaune (with a farm on your left).

(1) Follow the path on the right that runs alongside the Huveaune and continue to a barrier. Go through it, carry on a little further and you’ll soon reach Boulevard Piot.

(2) Turn right and head for the junction with the D96, opposite the town hall. Turn left onto Avenue des Alliés and you’ll arrive at the foot of the church.

(3) Carry on straight ahead and cross the bridge over the Huveaune. Immediately afterwards, take a street on the right and, at the junction, go straight on towards a large square. Cross it diagonally to the right. Turn right onto the first bridge over the Huveaune, then turn left onto the Quai du Souvenir Français.

(4) At the fork in the road, turn left and cross a car park running alongside the Huveaune. Then walk between the cemetery on your right and the boules court, followed by a playground on your left. Pass under a railway bridge and continue straight on. A little further on, at a fork in the road, take the path on the right (ignore the path on the left which runs alongside the Huveaune). Walk past a beautiful waterfall and continue to the end of the path, which ends in a cul-de-sac.

(5) Turn round and follow the same route back to the bus stop (S/E).

This walk is situated in the heart of the village of Roquevaire, which offers a wide range of amenities: cafés, restaurants, shops, a church, etc. You can get there by taking bus route 8 on the local bus network. The service is free. Check the timetables.
