L'Ardille

Departure from the centre of the village of Migé, at the foot of the town hall and the car park in front of the small pond.

(S/E) Facing the pond and the benches, turn left and follow Rue de l'Étang. When you reach the church, go straight ahead and then turn left to follow Grande Rue to the edge of the village.

(1) At this fork, go straight ahead. At the next fork, leave the road and turn left onto Chemin des Laves. Enter the woods and, at the crossroads, keep to the right to stay on the main path.

(2) Cross the road carefully, turn right and walk about 50 metres, then take the path on the left. Cross the Ru de Genotte. Begin a fairly steady climb, keeping to the right-hand path. At the edge of the woods, continue along the edge with a power line overhead.

(3) Go straight ahead at this crossroads, using the power line as a landmark. Keep it on your right for a few dozen metres. Pass under this line and leave the wooded area. When you reach a four-way crossroads, turn right. You will come to a road.

(4) Cross it and follow the path. Cross another small road to begin the descent to Charentenay.

(5) Cross this crossroads carefully, heading towards the village. Pass the adjacent streets to reach Grande Rue. Take it on the left.
Pass in front of Saint-Laurent Church and continue straight ahead until you reach the three-way junction.

(6) Turn right onto Rue de la Poterne. At the next intersection, turn right, pass Sentier de Derrière les Murs on your right and go up the partially tarmac road. Ignore the path leading to the telecommunications pylon and the next one on the left.

(7) The tarmac ends, the path continues straight ahead and continues to climb, but the slope becomes gentler.

(8) Shortly before an old vineyard, turn right to begin the descent to Nanteau. Turn onto the first path you come to on the left. Ignore the next path on the left, which leads to the plain. Pass a small spring on your left.

(9) Take the cross street (Grande Rue de Nanteau) by turning left. There is a wash house below. A steep climb leads to a plateau at the edge of the woods.

(10) Turn right and walk for about 150 m before turning right again. At the fork, turn left.

(11) Enter the undergrowth, staying on the main path. This is followed by a steep descent that continues into a more open area.
Shortly before the road, turn left onto a grassy path (not shown on the IGN map) and you will come out onto the road.

(12) Cross carefully and descend opposite onto a fairly wide path.

(13) Leave the path and turn left onto the road, continuing downhill. Go straight ahead at the first crossroads and turn left into Rue de la Petite Fontaine (old oil mill on the right). Come out onto the square to reach the car park (S/E).

As this route alternates between shade and sunlight, headgear is essential on sunny days, as are good shoes.
A mountain bike trail in the opposite direction is also used.
This route is marked in accordance with the marking charter of the Communauté de Communes de Puisaye-Forterre and is numbered 97 on yellow plaques.
The trail was marked by the association À chacun son chemin en Puisaye-Forterre in October 2021.

For many years, the village of Migé was well known for its cherries. However, intensification and imports have undermined its reputation. Vines and cereals have replaced this production. The Coulanges-la-Vineuse AOC designation has enabled this village to diversify and occupy the well-exposed hillside areas.
