Start: Irvine Beach Park boating pond car park. Grid ref NS 307 380. (W3W: foster.spell.fails)
(S/E) Starting from the car park, whilst facing the pond, walk to the right, along the tarmac path (South-West). Continue on with the pond on your left-hand side.
(1) Bypass the junction, continue straight ahead South in the direction of the beach towards the grassy hills, the pond still on your left-hand side.
(2) After 330m, at the junction between the tarmac path and the sandy path to the beach, take the sandy path on the right (South). Make your way to the foot of the hill and carry on to the top.
(3) As you stop to catch your breath at the top of the hill, take in the views of the Clyde, the Isle of Arran and Ailsa Craig. Make your way North-East along the top of the hill.
(4) Find a suitable point to make your way down the hill to pick up the red blaze path. Turn left (West) towards the pond.
(5) Pick up the tarmac path and turn right (North). The pond will once again be on your left. Carry on around the pond and make your way back to the starting point.(S/E)
