Description de la randonnée

Start: At the carpark off of Moorpark Road East, Stevenston, North Ayrshire, Scotland (KA20 3HP). Grid ref NS 270 415, What3Words ///language.javelin.wobbles.

(S/E) Starting from the small car park off of Moorpark Road East, walk under the white vehicle height restriction barrier and turn left onto the tarmac path. Walk until the first forked junction.

(1) At the forked junction turn left and continue on the path in the direction of the pond.

(2) Bypass this junction keeping right with the pond now on your left hand side. Keep on this path, bypassing the bridge on the left. Walk up this small incline.

(3) Turn right following the path around to the right, making your way back to the starting point. (S/E)

Parking: There is a small carpark off of Moorpark Road East, please note that this has a vehicle height restriction barrier.

Transport: The closest train station is Stevenston train station approx. 0.5km from the starting point. Bus stops are on Main Street, slightly under 1km away from the start point.

Facilities: There are to facilities within the park. Main street is located slightly under 1km from the start point with a library and various shops and eating places. Ardeer community centre is also nearby as is Doon the Beach cafe see here.]

Terrain: This section of Ardeer park is on tarmac surfaces that are broadly in good repair. There are a few benches on the route.

Dog policy: This is a good park for dog walkers

Alternative: This walk can be extended to include a circular of the Ardeer pond, the Local Nature Reserve to the east of the site or the Local Nature Reserve on the coast.
