Access by car:
- from Grenoble, take the Col de Menée, then the D120 to the hamlet of Menée, then the D224 to the Cirque d'Archiane.
- from Die: head towards Châtillon-en-Diois, then take the D120 to Menée and follow signs for Cirque Archiane.
Hike departure point:
(S/E) Take theGR®93heading north towards the Vercors highlands, cross the village of Archiane, and join the Sentier Découverte trail in the valley.
(1) Leave the Sentier Découverte and continue on theGR®93. The trail enters a canyon and reaches the Carrefour des Quatre Chemins.
(2) Begin a steep climb up the scree slope, where the trail is particularly well maintained, then reach the high plateaus at the ruined Saint-Roman hut.
(3) Continue along the easy path for 1 hour to the crossroads at the Jasneuf sheepfold.
(4) Return via the same route to Archiane (S/E).
very beautiful hike! But lots of elevation gain... very hard, especially in the heat!
