Description of the walk

The car park is on the edge of Route de l'Enseigne (Entseñazaharra).

(S/E) Take the track eastwards until you reach a fork.

(1) Take the right fork towards the south-east until you enter the forest and approach a stream at a T-junction.

(2) Take the path on the right towards the south. Ford the stream and continue south on the other bank. The path emerges from the forest and joins a track.

(3) Take it to the left towards the north. At the next three junctions, take the left branch towards the top of the hill.

(4) Ignore the path that turns left into the forest and continue straight ahead, heading northeast until you reach a track.

(5) Turn left onto it heading north-west until you cross a stream.

(6) Turn left onto a path that enters the forest, following the stream, which you will cross several times until you reach the T-junction at the start of the hike.

(2) Take the path on the right to climb back up to the moor and return along the same path you came on to the car park (S/E).

The walk back to the car park was quite a struggle as it was in full sun and the climb was quite steep! We did the hike in 30-degree heat!! Perhaps best avoided on really hot days...

The car park at the starting point is not the right one; it’s 200 metres further down.
In fact, the car park shown on the map is in a pastoral area where stopping and parking are prohibited, although some people do so anyway.
