Around the Étang du Doul

This easy, short hike is a loop around the Étang du Doul. It starts in the picturesque village of Peyriac-de-Mer, located between Narbonne and Sigean. Wine growing, fishing and tourism are the main activities here. During the walk, you will pass the Étangs de la Saline, Étangs du Doul, Étangs de Bages and Étangs de Sigean. From the heights, you can admire a splendid view of Bages and La Nautique.
Rossignol Mill at Armissan and the Marmorières Dovecot circuit

Hike in the mountains of La Clape overlooking the Pyrenees, the Black Mountain and the Mediterranean. See the “Rossignol” (nightingale) mill of Armissan, and then enjoy views at the orientation table at Vinassan, and finally Marmorières Domaine’s chapel’s dovecot.
The Œil Doux chasm

Short loop in the Montagne de la Clape with a visit to the listed site of L'Œil Doux and the Domaine Municipal de l'Oustalet. This is the equestrian centre of the town of Fleury with a mini farm and an eco-museum.
The Combe d'Enfer in the Massif de Fontfroide

You'll discover part of the Massif de Fontfroide between the Domaine de Jonquières and the Abbaye de Fontfroide (visit possible), thanks to the many DFCI trails closed to motor vehicle traffic. The demanding section of the Combe d'Enfer should be walked with care, or even avoided after rain. An alternative route, described in the practical information section, allows you to bypass this tricky section.
Tour of Pech-Céleyran - Moulin du Pech

A stroll starting the Coursan community hall between the Aude River and Pech-Céleyran. Lovely views of the plains, the Montagne Noire and the Pyrenees, from the peak. Passing by the Moulin du Pech mill.

The Pech de Thou and the château de Carasses

A tranquil hike graded moderate for the distance and altitude gain. Most of the hike is on tarmac roads. Some nice views along all of the route, especially at the water tower where you can see Capestang, the lake and further away, Narbonne and the Pyrenean mountain range. Also Béziers, Puisserguier and further away, the Haut-Languedoc hills.

A walk exploring the other side of the scenery, behind the beaches of Portiragnes. Along the Canal du Midi, meet the barges and discover the dedicated port on the edge of the marshes. A winter stopover for migratory birds, from the top of the small dunes, overlooking the beach. Walk along the dykes surrounded by salt marshes.
