Description of the walk

Park your car at Great Tew car park.

(S/E) Turn left and head to the village. You can see lovely thatched houses in Brook Road before you follow Old Road on your right going past "Falkland Arms".

(1) After 150 metres, bear right to the footpath past the property n°15. At the junction with New Road, turn left and follow the road for 350 metres before you reach the cemetery on your left.

(2) Take the path on the left next to the beautiful cedar tree which leads to St Michaels Church you can visit. Then, retrace your steps, continue New Road for 100 metres and bear left at the fork.

(3) Cross over the main road following the track in front of you with a yellow arrow signpost (circular walk footpath). Use the path next to "New Gardens Cottage" leading to the countryside. From now on, go straight the grassy path along the trees on the right and fields on the left for almost half a mile. Then, ignore a track on both right and left sides and continue straight ahead for almost half a mile again.

(4) You finally reach a grove and follow the yellow arrow which goes to the right. Then, follow the path next to Tracey Barn Farm or, as indicated, you can follow an alternative permissive footpath. The two paths finally reach the driveway next to the property. Walk the driveway for 500 metres which leads to the main road (B4022).

(5) Turn right, walk along the road for only 100 metres before you turn left to the footpath "Little Tew". Go diagonally left across the meadow until you find a stile. Go through it, go across a second field which leads to a narrow path along a property.

(6) Bear left, walk the road in Little Tew. Then, ignore Chapel and Enstone Road on your left until you see St John the Evangelist. You can visit the church and walk the road in front of you for 100 metres to reach a stunning giant sequoia!

(7) Retrace your steps in Little Tew, ascend the road which leaves the village for 500 metres until you find "Great Tew footpath" on the left (yellow arrow). Go diagonally right across the field (target the aerial) for 450 metres. Then, cross over Butcher's Hill (B4022), go across open meadows for 400 metres going past Court Farm and you are back to Great Tew.(S/E)

This is an absolute game changer of an app! Staying in an unfamiliar area, the app gave us a wealth of options of which walk to do, and not old that, the OS maps and LIVE pin-drop functionality is great! Minimises the changes of getting lost, get to know local points and many more! Will 100% be using this moving forward!
