Start this walk in the car park of Swalcliffe Barn a listed building housing agricultural machinery.
(S/E) Exit onto road turn left and continue on the road for about 300 metres, turn left into Green Lane follow for just over 1.5 kilometres, noting the mill on your left. This exits onto roman road facing you is a mound which is Madmarston Hill originally Iron Age fort. Turn right to follow the roman road for about 400 metres.
(1) Turn right of the Roman road onto footpath for about 800 metres to reach the village of Tadmarton on your left. Join the road for short distance to the right bend in road.
(2) At the bend in road carry straight on to footpath, descend to stream and climb up to a barn about 1.6 kilometres from the road. Just past the barn take right fork in the footpath. In about 1.5 kilometres reach the road turn right and at the road junction turn left to reach another road junction.
(3) At road junction turn right continue for 1.4 kilometres looking for a track/footpath on right.
(4) Turn off the road continue due north for nearly 2 kilometres to reach a road, cross the road and continue up hill when nearly at top as passing a wood on left look for footpath through wood.
(5) Enter the footpath through the wood after about 600 metres reach a road, exit the wood onto the road and turn right. This takes you back to Swalcliffe and at the road T junction, turn right and then left into the car park.
