The route starts from the car park at the bus stop, but there are other parking spaces along the climb towards the old village (Avenue des Badaïres), or at the school at the bottom of the village.
(S/E) Head up towards the old village until you reach Chemin du Pavadou on the right and take the path that leads down to the road.
(1) Follow it to the left towards the Grand Font signpost and continue along this road towards Les Dévens, GR®91, red and white markings on the Chemin de la Nesque. At the end of the tarmac road, you’ll come to a fork; follow the riverbed to the right, over white pebbles that serve as a path.
(2) At the Les Dévens signpost, turn right towards Saint-Hubert, following the red and yellow markings of the GRP® Massif du Ventoux, and continue until you reach a fork.
(3) Turn right and you’ll reach another fork.
(4) Take the path climbing to the right until you reach a large natural clearing.
(5) Continue straight on, following the same markings. Ignore a track branching off to the left, which leads to Fort Marin, and carry on straight ahead.
(6) Turn right following the signposting, cross a stream then turn left just before the gate to Château de Vignal. The path curves to the right then to the left and joins a road (D5).
(7) Follow it to the right, leaving the signposting behind. It is a tarmac road, but with little traffic, and leads to the Pont de Faraud.
(8) Cross the bridge and take the D15 uphill, on the left at the fork in the road. Continue to the next junction.
(9) Turn onto the road going uphill, Chemin des Indochinois, and follow it to the Col du Pié Blanc, at the Pié Blanc signpost.
(10) Continue straight on along the forest road to the Les Indochinois signpost.
(11) Leave the forest road and take the path on the right, behind the gate, towards Lioux (yellow markings) and descend to the next marker.
(12) At the Les Teissonnières signpost, turn right towards Lioux and head downhill to the Coteau de Regagnade signpost.
(13) Continue along the path on the left towards Lioux, still descending, until you reach the Les Rouvières signpost.
(14) Turn right towards Murs on the GRP® de la Pierre en Vaucluse, marked in yellow and red. Cross the Vallon du Malheur (stream) and arrive at the Bois de Bézaure signpost.
(15) Continue straight on towards Murs until you reach a crossroads.
(16) Turn right among the various paths and join a tarmac road. Follow it to Bézaure, after passing a reservoir below and a small basin just before it. The building is impressive.
(17) At the bend after the Bézaure farm, and after seeing a huge tree stump—which must have been enormous—by the side of the road, take the private track opposite, which turns into a footpath.
(18) Take the path that descends to the left and, here, be very careful as it is a steep descent with numerous stones. It is very easy to slip. This path leads to the Gorges de Vaumale.
(19) At the Gorges de Vaumale signpost, head towards Murs, following the red and yellow markings on the other side of the dry ford to climb back up. Continue to follow the markings, ignoring the other paths and tracks that intersect the route you are taking.
(20) When you reach the La Tourbe signpost, head towards Murs, then at the bend in the road, continue left uphill to reach the Les Cairades signpost, where you join the Route de Sault (D15).
(21) Continue straight on towards Murs. You can pay a brief visit to the village of Murs, with its castle and old quarter, which is unfortunately becoming something of a museum village. Shops are open in summer; otherwise, everything is closed as there are too few residents and too many holiday homes. Once at the bottom of the village, take the road on the right towards the town hall, then the wash house.
(22) At the crossroads, take the road on the right, Route de Carpentras (D4), then turn left onto the GRP® on Route de Parassa, which descends to the left.
(23) At the Les Vallons signpost, cross the D15 and continue straight ahead towards Col de Murs.
(24) At the fork, continue right onto the road that climbs and join a path almost at the end of this road.
(25) Take the path straight ahead after passing the last house and head towards Col de Murs. When you reach the water tank along the D4, there is a Red Cross and a Yellow Cross, but continue to follow the path until it joins the road at the pass, to avoid walking alongside the road.
(26) Cross the D4 carefully and continue straight on towards Malemort du Comtat.
(27) At the Croix de la Fuste signpost, turn left, then right a good ten metres further on, onto the path that climbs, still marked in red and yellow.
(28) Follow the bend in the track and follow the Piste du Lac Fuste on the GRP® Tour des Monts de Vaucluse, which offers new views along this route: the Carpentras plain, the Dentelles de Montmirail in the distance, and, further still, the Lozère mountains, amongst others. Continue to the Crespion signpost.
(29) Turn right towards Méthamis, but the signpost is misaligned. You must go behind the wooden gate marked “Malemort, Méthamis”. Continue straight along the path until you reach a clearing on a flat area (elevation 423m).
(30) Take the path straight ahead, opposite the track you are on, and then be very careful as the path is very steep and stony. Take your time on this section, especially as, after nearly 30 km, you may start to feel tired.
(31) Once at the bottom of the Combe des Nisardes, turn left then right onto the GR®91.
(32) Turn right following the same signposting and continue along this route to reach the Serre Clouvet signpost.
(33) Head left towards Méthamis, leaving Larat on your right and passing Les Plantiers.
(34) Take the path that climbs to the right, following the same signposting, and arrive on the outskirts of Méthamis.
(35) Turn right, then take the first left and arrive at Place de l'École. Follow the road to reach your chosen car park. If it is the one at the bus stop on the hill leading to the old village, turn left, then immediately right, into Avenue des Badaïres where the car park is located (S/E).
