Park in front of the town hall in Saint-Pardoux-Morterolles.
Preliminary remarks:
1 Inconsistent yellow markings, then yellow-red and yellow, then yellow again.
2 At the waterfall site, follow the yellow markings topped with a water wheel.
(S/E) With your back to the town hall, walk a few metres to the right and take the Chemin du Petru immediately on the left. Ignore a path on the right.
At the next two three-way junctions, take the path furthest to the right each time and enter the forest. You will soon come to a four-way crossroads.
(1) Turn right, then 90° left, and continue towards Puy du Pétru. You will arrive at a paved forest road.
(2) Turn right. The road leads to the D13. Cross carefully and take the forest road opposite. Continue straight ahead to reach the crossroads leading to Lavaud.
(3) Leave the forest road by turning left. Continue to the crossroads with theGRP® des Cascades, Landes et Rivières.
(4) Turn right and follow the yellow and red markings of this GRP®. Descend to the D58.
(5) Turn left onto the D58 and continue for a good hundred metres. You will reach a sign indicating the site of the Cascades d'Augerolles.
(6) Cross the small bridge, follow the direction indicated by the "Moulin" sign and follow the yellow markings topped with a water wheel.
After the mill, follow the sign for "Cascades 900m". Descend zigzagging towards the stream, following the markings.
(7) Cross the Pic stream and climb back up towards the exit of the site. Join the D58 road.
(5) Take this road to the right and return to the crossroads of the circular.
(6) Continue on the D58, leaving the red and yellow markings here. At the next crossroads, take the first small road on the right towards Augerolles and the first road on the left. Please note: this road is brand new and does not appear on maps.
(8) At the hairpin bend on the new road, take the path on the left. At the first intersection, turn right. Join a forest road that is paved or dirt in sections. Continue straight ahead, ignoring all other paths or trails. At the hamlet of Le Devant des Peux, rejoin theGRP® that you left earlier.
(9) Cross theGRP® and take the slightly downhill path on the right. A yellow sign indicates that the hamlet is 3km away. Be careful not to follow the yellow and red signs.
Go around the Puy de Buze in a wide curve. You will reach a four-way crossroads at a hairpin bend.
(10) Continue along the path on the right, which is actually the main path. Descend in a zigzag pattern before arriving at Buze.
(11) Just before the sign prohibiting vehicles over 3.5 tonnes, before entering the hamlet of Buze, turn right onto a path that descends towards the Pic stream. Ignore the path on the right and continue downhill to reach the stream.
(12) Cross it via a double plank bridge. Begin the climb towards Saint-Pardoux-Morterolles. Ignore the adjacent paths and continue straight ahead. You will reach the entrance to the village.
(13) Turn left or right, it doesn't matter. Reach the Route des Cascades and turn left into Saint-Pardoux-Morterolles. Continue straight on towards the town hall to return to the car park where you started (S/E).
