Park in the car park near the Salle des Fêtes: Faubourg des Quatre Maires.
(S/E) Head towards Rue de la Libération and follow it to the right.
A few metres further on, stay on this road, ignoring the sign for Chapelle Saint-Côme.
(1) At the next junction, take the Chemin de la Canal to the left (a hairpin bend) and, at the same time, follow the yellow and red markings ofthe GRP®® des Dentelles de Montmirail.
Continue steadily along theGRP®® until you reach a junction near the D229.
(2) Leave theGRP®® and take the short, unmarked but clearly visible climb to the right.
After walking alongside some vineyards, head through the woodland, then walk alongside the vineyards again before taking a track on the left (signposted: towards Col du Cayron).
Further on, take a path uphill to the left and emerge onto a track. Follow this to the right to reach the Col du Cayron.
(3) Follow the ‘Dentelles’ route, marked in blue. A steep climb will take you quickly to the Dentelles Sarrasines.
(4) Caution here: remain extremely vigilant on this section, which is certainly the most incredible but also the most difficult.
At the signpost, turn left onto the ‘Rocher du Turc’ and ‘Col d’Alsau’ route.
Reach the other side of the Dentelles, which is sheltered from the wind, and enjoy the marvellous panoramic views before beginning a fairly technical descent leading down a forest track to the Col d’Alsau.
(5) Follow the forest track to the right to reach a junction with a signpost.
(6) Turn right to reach the Rocher du Midi.
At the picnic tables, turn left onto the path, which has been converted into steps, leading to the Rocher du Midi orientation point. Enjoy the breathtaking 360° panorama from here.
(7) Return to the previous junction.
(6) Take the route on the right towards Gigondas. Keep following the track, ignoring any side paths, until you reach a road and theGRP®® des Dentelles de Montmirail.
(8) Take the road on the right and, a few metres further on, enter the village of Gigondas, staying on theGRP®® the whole time. Pass the Town Hall and continue along Rue Eugène Raspail. You’ll come back to the junction where the route began.
(1) Turn left and retrace your steps along the same route in reverse to return to the car park at the Salle des Fêtes in Gigondas (S/E).
