Parking in the village car park.
(S/E) Take Rue Raymond V des Baux, which leads to the main square; cross this to the left and take Rue Eugène Raspail.
(1) After the grocery shop (no. 14), turn right and take the Montée des Hospices, following the yellow and red markings of the GRP® Tour des Dentelles de Montmirail. At the junction, keep left and continue on the GRP® following the Chemin de Fontsane. Join the D229.
(2) Cross carefully and continue straight ahead on the GRP® towards Pas de l'Aigle.
(3) Turn right and continue to follow the GRP®. Ignore several turn-offs on either side as you walk for about 3 km.
(4) Leave the GRP®, which turns left towards the ruins of Prébayon Monastery, and continue straight on towards Pas de l'Aigle on the same path, now marked in yellow.
(5) Pass Pas de l'Aigle (panoramic view), continue along the same path which joins the Chemin de Suzette. Carry on straight ahead towards Château Neuf Redortier.
(6) Before reaching the hamlet, turn left onto the Chemin des Pradas and follow it northwards.
(7) Leave the Chemin des Pradas and continue straight on the PR® towards the Cyprès des Évêques via the Verrière track, which runs along the north face of the Saint-Amand ridge. Reach the “Cyprès des Évêques” signpost.
(8) Head towards La Pousterle and Le Pas du Loup on the right.
(9) Pass La Pousterle (panoramic view) then Le Pas du Loup and continue south-west. Reach the “Le Partifiage” signpost.
(10) Turn right, go straight on at the next path junction. Reach a crossroads at a bend in a small road.
(11) Turn left to follow Chemin du Saint-Amand. Go straight on until you reach the “la Bori” signpost.
(12) Head towards Château Neuf Redortier on the right.
(13) Keep to the right and head towards the hamlet.
(14) Continue straight on towards Lafare, staying on the yellow-marked PR® trail. You will reach a crossroads at the bottom of a descent.
(15) Leave the PR® and take the path leading down to the right between a sign for “chasse gardée – La Diane de Saint-Amand” on the left and a Yellow Cross on a tree trunk on the right. Continue until you rejoin the PR® at Vallat de Fenouillet.
(16) Follow the Chemin du Cayron to the right as far as the pass of the same name.
(17) Take the Grand Montmirail track to the left as far as the Rocher du Midi: panoramic views and a map post.
(18) At the picnic area, leave the track and take a path to the right of the cistern, which is steeply downhill and in poor condition, and joins the GRP® Tour des Dentelles de Montmirail. Follow it downhill to the right to the main square in Gigondas, then turn left to reach the car park where you started (S/E).
