From Balisio to San Calimero Via Cornisella

This route takes you from Balisio Hill to San Calimero via Cornisella.

The terrain is not difficult, but it becomes quite steep from Cornisella onward, so some preparation is required.

The panorama of the Valsassina valley and also of the Valtellina Alps is wonderful.

Notes

  • Water at (1). This is the only place where you will find some.
  • (2) Pay attention here, because the track is partly in the rough and a little difficult to follow. Always keep an eye on your navigator/track.
  • Cell phone reception is good.
  • In San Calimero, there are a couple of tables for lunch.
  • On the way back, you can take the road to Prabello di Sopra and head towards the Antonietta al Pialleral refuge (longer and more strenuous), or retrace your steps and head towards the Oneda farmhouse (straight from the Alpine chapel) or the Brunino farmhouse (along the same route you took).
