(S) From your bivouac site, head to Frinvillier. On Rue du Canal, proceed north-east to the main road. Cross it carefully, then turn right to pass the railway bridge. Before the E27 suspension bridge, take the stairs on the left, following the direction of Plagne. Pass under this bridge, then cross the main road leading to the tunnel and cross the grassy area. On the tarmac road, turn right and continue to the signpost.
(1) Go up to the left (north) on the path that leads into the woods, cross a wide path and continue on the trail until you reach the signpost on a wide stony path.
(2) Continue north-east to reach a crossroads.
(3) Carefully follow the signs to Plagne on the left. Continue along the Route de la Bienne and pass under a high-voltage power line before arriving at a path marked by a yellow stake
(4) Turn left (northeast) through the woods. Ignore the crossroads and continue until you leave the woods and arrive at a place called Les Neufs Champs.
(5) Cross this area of fields dotted with old trees, either standing alone or in small groups, heading north-east. You will arrive at Chemin des Neuf Champs.
(6) Continue straight ahead, heading north-west along this stony path to reach Plagne in front of the guest houses. Continue along Chemin des Œuchettes heading north-east until you reach Plagne primary school and nursery school.
(7) Turn left onto Rue Milieu de la Fin, pass the Au Vieux Grenier restaurant and continue north-east until you reach the signpost at the intersection with Chemin de Fraubère.
(8) Turn left (northeast) to enter the woods. Ignore the crossroads and continue along a forest path that climbs steadily to the hamlet of Le Bovresses. (With a bit of luck, you may spot some llamas.)
(9) Keep to the right and continue along the small tarmac road to Pré Drystone Shelter, near Châlet La Jonquille.
(10) Stay on the road in the same direction, ignoring any side roads, and continue to the Romontberg Restaurant.
(11) After the restaurant, at the Montagne de Romont signpost (1120 m), follow the direction of Wäsmeli/Stierenberg by first turning left then right, continue north-east on the Prés de la Côte path. Continue to Wildpark Romont (horse riding centre).
(12) Continue north-east across the Vallières pastures. Continue to the Pâturages de la Montagne signpost, at the intersection with a hiking trail (altitude 1165).
(13) Ignore this path and continue north-east to the edge of the Vallière Forest.
(14) Enter the woods on a forest path that descends towards the east, then leave the forest and continue to the signpost at the crossroads in Wäsmeli.
(15) Turn right (east/southeast) towards Stierenberg. Stay on the tarmac road until you reach the Stierenberg Restaurant.
(16) From the restaurant, continue to the signpost, then turn left (north-east) towards Untergrenchenberg. Follow the stony Bützenweg path to the signpost below the forest.
(17) Following the signs for Untergrenchenberg, turn left onto the rocky and stony Fuchsboden path, which climbs quite steeply. Cross the forest and continue to Grenchenberg Road.
(18) Head north-east to the car park, then at the signpost, take the forest path heading north-east. Continue to the signpost at the edge of Grenchenberg Road (elevation 1239)
(19) Head northwest across the meadow towards Untergrenchenberg. Back on Route Grenchenberg, continue to Restaurant Untergrenchenberg.
(20) Above the restaurant, turn right onto the stony path and follow the signs for Obergrenchenberg. At the access road to the SAC chalet, turn left and after a right-hand bend, head north-east to climb up to the ridge. (You are now in the Grenchenberg ski area at the top of the ski lifts).
(21) Continue north-east to a three-way junction (elevation 1367).
(22) At the signpost, follow the direction of Weissenstein, ignoring the path that descends to the right. Cross a small fir forest and continue to the signpost at the edge of the Obergrenchenberg road.
(23) Turn right and follow the signs for Küferegg/Weissenstein. Cross a large meadow, passing northeast of the Obergrenchenberg Restaurant and a little further on a wind turbine, then continue to the Küferegg cliffs. Continue to the viewpoint overlooking the Oberes Brüggli mountain restaurant in the distance (elevation 1309).
(24) Continue along the ridge to the Stallflue plateau. Walk to the cross at the top of the Stallflue (altitude 1,409 metres).
(25) Continue along the plateau and, after a few short ascents and descents, you will reach the signpost on Eggstasse Road.
(26) Be careful, as this is the starting point for many hiking trails! Follow the signs to Weissenstein on the right for about 50 metres, then turn left and continue for about 100 metres before turning right, heading east on the Jura Höhenweg (marker no. 5 on a green background). Continue to the signpost at the crossroads.
(27) Turn right and head south on a steep climb. After a bit of effort, you will reach the summit of Hasenmatt at a cross, where you will be rewarded with a magnificent view of the Alps and the Plateau with the meandering Aare River.
(28) From the highest point of the stage, begin the descent towards the east. Descend to the signpost at the crossroads.
(29) Keep going straight ahead, heading east/north-east towards Weissenstein. Continue to the signpost at the three-way junction.
(30) Continue left, north-east, to a farm at the crossroads (elevation 1182).
(31) Continue downhill to the access road to the Gasthof Hinter Weissenstein inn.
(32) Turn right (east), then after a bend, head north-east to reach the signpost on the edge of Route Gänsbrunnen, near a car park.
(33) Turn right and continue to Restaurant Sennhaus, turn right and look for a discreet place to camp (E).
