Departure from the Priory of Arnac. Parking in the Priory car park.
(S/E) Head south uphill, take the C12, i.e. the first road on the right.
(1) At a place called Ris Marteau, turn left towards Las Ségudas. After passing the houses on the right, at the fork at elevation 367, take the forest path on the right. Continue along a gravel road, then a tarmac road.
(2) At the Rhé crossroads, turn right onto the D7 (fire station). Follow the D7 to the right (along the side of the road) for about 100 metres. Then cross the road to the left and enter the national forest, going around the hamlet of lodges. Follow the main path at the next crossroads, going straight ahead.
(3) Cross the clearing, ignore the paths on the right and left and head due west. Stay on the main path and ignore the side paths. You will reach the Étang du Merle, with a children's playground and a rest area with tables and benches.
(4) Continue along the pond on your right. At the end, follow a road to the right until you reach the D7.
(5) At the crossroads, take the D7 on the right and walk along the hard shoulder towards Pompadour. Turn left after the Resistance memorial, towards Le Gué de Maury. Walk alongside three private ponds.
(6) At the next crossroads, go down to the right, pass through Grand-bois (panoramic view), then Le Breuil and Le Ris de Marteau.
(1) Turn left to return to the Prieurale d'Arnac (S/E).
