Head towards Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port via the D918. At a circular bend in the Nive, head towards Ascarat via the D303.
In the village, turn left towards the church and take the first right after the village entrance sign. At the junction with the D15, take the D403 towards Lasse and follow the road to Place du Fronton.
Turn right onto the small street running alongside the church between two walls; it leads to a large car park.
When I was there, the yellow markings on the path were quite visible.
(S/E) Continue west from the car park along the small road, which is part of theGR®10, until you reach the first junction.
(1) Turn right towards the north-west, leaving the GR®. The narrow road runs past some farms and is joined by another road on the right.
(2) Continue straight ahead, heading north-west. Ignore a small road coming in from the right and turn west.
The road runs alongside a vineyard.
(3) Turn left, heading south-west, and continue until you rejoin theGR®10.
(4) Turn left and follow theGR®10. The route passes through a place called Fiteranea, which gave its name to the walk.
Continue to a T-junction and turn left for about 50 m to reach the crossroads from the outward journey.
(1) Turn right and follow the path back to the car park (S/E).
