It then approaches the banks of the Hérault via shaded paths and trails, offering a real haven of coolness in the summer.
The circuit, which sometimes runs along a balcony, offers beautiful views of the river and its meanders before reaching the picturesque Moulin de Clauzel.
The Cross of Saint-Micisse and the Gorges de l'Hérault
A short but fairly difficult hike offering exceptional views of the Gorges de l'Hérault. The climb is on a shady but stony path to reach the vertiginous edge of a cliff. The route is generally well marked except for one section.

The Giant's Steps
This short hike will take you to a remarkable site off the beaten track. From the charming Saint-Étienne de Gabriac chapel, the trail takes you to the banks of the Lamalou before reaching impressive strata of white limestone. These very thick strata have staggered ridges and form a huge staircase, hence the name of the site.
This hike must be done in sunny weather to admire the dazzling whiteness of these rocks.
Circular of the karstic cave and Bois de Long cave in Brissac
Brissac Park is home to numerous springs that form the Avèze River, creating a haven of coolness. The eastern slope of Bois de Long is home to karstic caves and sinkholes. On our route, we will visit the Aven de la Dame, the Bois Long cave and the Rabanel chasm.
The Thaurac Plateau
From the village of Laroque, take a tour of the Thaurac plateau and its many karstic caves.
The Capucin ridges from Valflaunès
A beautiful hike with views from above, running along the ridges of the causse that overlooks Valflaunès and Lauret.
There are beautiful views to the east and south throughout the circuit over the villages of the wine-growing plain and the Pic Saint Loup vineyards. In the distance, the hills fade into a beautiful shade of blue.
The Ravin des Arcs from the Pont de Masclac
In this heath area, the Lamalou, a small tributary of the Hérault, has carved out a narrow canyon bordered in places by high cliffs. The bed of this temporary watercourse, the focal point of your hike, hides wonders, the highlight of which is a superb natural arch. Although this watercourse is dry for much of the year, as soon as the first rains fall, it can become a veritable torrent: do not cross it when the water is high.
Located in the heart of the Gorges de l'Hérault, a listed site with the Grand Site de France label, and two Natura 2000 sites, the Ravin des Arcs is recognised for its high environmental and landscape value. It is home to several endangered species.
It is forbidden to leave the marked trail from 15 January to 30 June: this sensitive natural site is protected by a prefectural decree for the protection of biotopes.
Circular between Claret and Corconne via the Taillade ridges
This hike takes you from Claret to Corconne via the plain, then back along the ridges with beautiful views of the surrounding area. From the Notre-Dame du Château chapel, there is a beautiful view of the Corconne vineyards and, on a clear day, the ponds and, further away, the sea.

This is an easy hike offering sweeping panoramic views of the Buèges and Hérault valleys and the Vis Gorges. The route is straightforward.
Le Roc Blanc - Montagne de la Séranne
This hike will take you to the highest point of the Séranne mountain, the Roc Blanc. Throughout the hike, you will enjoy wide panoramic views of the Buèges and Hérault valleys, the Gorges de la Vis, the Pic Saint-Loup and the Hortus.
The Fage mountain
This moderately difficult hike offers beautiful views of the surrounding mountains and Saint-Roman de Codières from the ridge of the Montagne de la Fage.
The hamlet of Cézas and the Priory of Saint-Martin
The hamlet of Cézas, in the commune of Sumène, clings to an altitude of 650 m between the Cagnasses and Fage mountains, in the heart of a national forest. This short mid-mountain route alternates between numerous shaded passages and views of the Cévennes and beyond. On the way, a visit to the 12th-century Priory of Saint-Martin is a must, offering a peaceful spot for a picnic.
The Monoblet twin peaks
Hike in the foothills of the Cévennes in a heath landscape with beautiful views of two characteristic hills: the Rouquette and Saint-Chamant peaks.
The difficulty can be adjusted: each summit can be climbed on a short round trip.
I recommend taking a break for a snack at the summit of Saint-Chamant.
