Park at the end of the Grotte des Demoiselles car park.
(S/E) Turn left onto theGR®® 60, descend a little, cross the road and descend a little further until you reach the road again. Turn right and walk for about 100 metres until you reach the signs indicating the direction of the via ferrata.
(1) Climb the small steps and take the path along the protective fence against falling rocks.
You will pass between two large rocks; this passage is called the "Pas de la Bufa". Here, you will often feel a draught, which gave the place its name (buffer = to blow in the local dialect).
(2) Be careful at this intersection: do not follow the via ferrata sign, but continue straight ahead. There is no sign, but there are green paint marks.
You will arrive at the Thaurac balcony, also known as the "vire". This is a beautiful viewpoint over the Hérault gorges and a lovely spot for a picnic or bivouac.
Just after this, take the time to admire the landscape and the magnificent sharp limestone pavement. Here, you can clearly see how the limestone is eroded by runoff water.
(3) Turn right when you reach theGR®® 60, which you follow until you reach your destination.
You will arrive back at the south side, with a beautiful view of the village of Saint-Bauzille-de-Putois, before taking the road down to the Grotte des Demoiselles car park (S/E).
