Description of the walk

Start from car park 2 at the Château de Ligoure.

(S/E) Leave the village behind and follow the road eastwards. It then quickly turns north.

(1) Leave the path to La Boufferie on your right and take the path with the "Info chasse" barrier.

(2) Pass another barrier on the right and follow the fish farm.

(3) At the fork, keep left and cross the two bridges. After thesecond bridge, take the path that climbs up opposite.

(4) Follow this interpretive trail: "ce petit chemin qui sent la noisette" (the little path that smells like hazelnuts).

(5) Go through the gate, then take the path that climbs up to the left.

(6) At the fork, turn right to descend to the Ligoure.

(7) Without taking the Chalucet footbridge, take the path on the left along the Ligoure, then quickly along the Briance. Follow this path to a fork.

(8) Take the path that descends to the right and cross the stream. Continue to the plateau at a place called La Grange.

(9) At La Grange, take the path on the left: signposted "Sentier pédestre" (footpath).

(10) When you reach Bellevue, turn left onto Chemin du Puy Tort, then turn right onto Chemin du Narbonnais.

(11) Leave the road in the right-hand bend and take the path on the left: Chemin de Fromental. This will take you back to the junction you passed on the way there.

(6) Go down the path on the right and you will arrive back at the gate.

(5) Take the path that descends opposite the gate and runs alongside the Gabi, cross it, then arrive at the Ligoure.

(12) If you wish, you can walk to the edge of the Ligoure for a pleasant break. Continue along the interpretive trail to the fish farm.

(3) Then retrace your steps to return to the car park (S/E).

Just before the point (8): two short steep climbs and at the point (8) a slightly "challenging" descent, OK with a walking stick..

Worth a visit

Part of the Ligoure Forest interpretive trail.

A beautiful country walk.

A picnic break at point (12): fantastic!!!
