Through the Forêts d'Aixe and Loges

Park near the Saint-Priest-Sous-Aix cemetery. Car park at the start of the hike.

(S/E) With your back to the cemetery (main entrance), follow the path on the right (return via the path on the left) and turn left onto the Route de Faye.

(1) Turn left onto this road and continue to the hamlet of Faye. ''At the hamlet: panoramic view of the quarries of
Pagnac and the Monts de Blond." Continue straight ahead until you reach a fork.

(2) At the bottom of the rocky path, turn right towards the Ruisseau de Trein stream and cross it. Follow the path towards the Beauregard farm. "At the farm: panoramic view of the
village of Verneuil and the Vienne valley."

(3) Go down the road on the right, past the farm and the two ponds.

(4) Turn left at the corner of the second pond and, at the bend in the road, take the path on the left that leads to the Leignat estate. Walk along the park (remains of Roman road paving) then climb into a coniferous wood.

(5) At the edge of the woods, turn sharply left onto a path that descends towards Les Essarts. Cross the Leignard stream and come out onto a road.

(6) Follow the road to the right until you reach a forest path on the left.

(7) Take this path southwards into the Forest of Aixe and continue straight on until you reach a crossroads, after passing "le Gros Arbre" (the big tree).

(8) Turn left onto the forest path towards Les Loges, which joins a road.
(9) Keep left towards the Maison des Bois and ignore a road on the left.

(10) Shortly afterwards, take the path on the left at Maison des Bois, walk along a pond and continue straight ahead. Cross a road and continue on the forest path until you reach the car park of the Saint-Priest-Sous-Aix cemetery (S/E).
