Park at the Omnisport Hall in Olne.
(S/E) Take the Chemin de la Croix, situated between the Hall Omnisport and the cemetery.
(1) At the first crossroads, follow Rue Sur les Fosses to the right and pass the first farm on your left. At the next crossroads, continue straight on along Chemin des Golets.
(2) At the junction with the Chemin du Vieux Puits, go straight on, staying on the Chemin des Golets. There is a lovely view of the hamlet of Bois d’Olne, which lies on the other side of the stream, the Hazienne or the Bola.
(3) Cross the Route de Soiron (between Nessonvaux and Soiron) and begin the climb opposite, on the other side of the road. The stream changes its name at the bridge, which also marks the boundary between Olne and Soiron. Continue along the path until you reach the first houses.
(4) Take the small path on the left which leads down towards Soiron. There are lovely views of the village. At the first junction near an abandoned farm on the left, follow the path to the left. At the top, turn left again to join the main road in Bouhaye. Follow it to the left towards Soiron-Centre. Please be careful: this is a road with motor traffic and few or no pavements!
(5) Before the wall running along the left-hand side of the main road, take a small path with a few steps. This path leads across a meadow with haystacks to the centre of Soiron.
In bad weather, this path can be slippery. In that case, you can continue along the main road to the centre of Soiron.
A few benches near the church invite you to stop for a rest. Do take a stroll around this little village centre, which shows that Soiron (like Olne) truly deserves the title of ‘Wallonia’s most beautiful village’.
(6) Follow the main road to the left. Turn left, ignoring the road on the left towards Nessonvaux. Pass the local school on your left, walk past the beautiful Soiron Castle (on your right) and head up Rue Tilleul to the first junction on your left, where there is an old well. Caution: no pavement and a busy road!
(7) Turn left onto Rue Mohontier, which later becomes Rue Grand Champ, and continue straight on.
(1) Cross to the opposite side to return to the starting point in Olne (S/E).
