(S) From the Prati Refuge, head for the ridge line. A few small alders mark this fairly steep climb that leads you to Punta Cappella (2,041 m).
(1) You pass just below the summit. Stay at around 2000 m, go around the small cirque, and you will arrive at Punta di Campitello (1937 m).
Then continue along the path that runs along the ridge, sometimes on its eastern slope, sometimes on its western slope. It can be quite windy. There is a small tricky section, but nothing alarming.
The path descends gently, still passing from one side of the ridge to the other, and you will pass several small passes, including Bocca di Rapari.
(2) After the Bocca di Rapari pass, continue the descent to reach Bocca di Laparo.
(3) From there, there are connections to Cozzano and Catastaghiu. Continue on the red and white marked trail, which continues close to the ridges. It has small ascents and descents, and you will pass close to a pylon and a house. Then a fairly steep climb with small hairpin bends will take you to Punta Bianca via Bocca di Punta Mozza.
(4) After Bocca di Punta Mozza, you will arrive at Bocca di a Furmicula.
(5) Continue climbing to reach Monte Furmicula (1,981 m), which you will need to descend via a traverse on its eastern flank. Then continue your descent to the Usciolu Refuge (E).
