Departure from the lower car park at Bassin de la Courance.
(S/E) When you leave the car park, take the road on the right. You will immediately pass the Saint-Sauveur fountain on your left. Then walk alongside the water treatment plant. The tarmac road narrows as it passes through the woods.
(1) Just after the travellers' reception area, below on your left, take the country lane on the left. After a while, just before a grove of trees, you will walk on cobblestones that are believed to be the remains of an ancient Roman road.
(2) Then cross a small wooden bridge and immediately turn right onto the path that runs alongside the Ru de Maurepas. From this path, on a clear day, you have a view (on the left) of the entire Jouars-Pontchartrain plain. Follow this path to the road (D23). Cross it and take the road opposite towards Chennevières and La Richarderie.
(3) Shortly after the first houses in Chennevières, take the first small street on your right (Chemin de la Tuilerie). It turns into a path that you follow to the left, between a hedge and a field, then to the right, turning shortly afterwards into a small tarmac road.
(4) When you reach the large farm (Ferme de Potançon) on your right, take the road (Rue de Potençon) a little further on the left to enter the small village of La Richarderie. At the end of this street, take the cul-de-sac on the right, which turns into a path. Then enter the forest by taking a path on the left that goes uphill and then immediately turns right.
(5) After a while, you will come to a small street that descends to the right (Rue du Moulin Neuf). Take this street and follow it to the small village of Ergal.
Once you reach the main road that crosses Ergal (D23), take this road on the right.
(6) Then turn immediately left onto Rue de la Nouzotte. This road takes you past an apple orchard on the right before turning into a path.
(7) You will come to two barriers. Take the path after the barrier on the right to go alongside the pony club. Follow the path until you find yourself in front of the water treatment plant that you passed at the start of the route. Turn left, then immediately left again onto the path that climbs slightly and takes you back to the Bassin de la Courance, which you will see very quickly.
Turn right onto the path that takes you over the dyke. You will find the car park at the bottom (S/E).
At junction 3, it's a shame to cut across rather than go straight on through the village of Chennevières, where you can admire beautiful houses and a magnificent thatched cottage... If you follow a small path, you'll rejoin the route a little further on (the detour is insignificant in terms of kilometres).
