Park in the car park of the Commandery of the Knights Templar at La Villedieu, located at the ‘Ordre des Chevaliers’ roundabout (with the statue of a knight).
(S/E) Take the path at the far end of the car park to reach the large park behind the Commanderie, known as the ‘Coulée Verte de la Villedieu’, with its vast meadow and tree-lined paths. Walk around the park, keeping to the right, and you will then exit on the north side, arriving at the Templiers roundabout.
(1) Go round the roundabout on the left and take Avenue de la Villedieu on your right. You’ll pass a large playground; after this, take the small street on the left, Allée Golda Meir, with a nursery at the end.
To the right of the nursery, a path leads you straight to the edge of the Bassin de la Boissière, a little corner of paradise – peaceful and green! Walk round the lake, keeping to the right-hand side on the southern bank (which narrows towards the eastern end). With a bit of luck, you might even spot a heron!
On the other side of the lake, take the path running alongside the water.
(2) After walking round the lake, carry on straight ahead along the footpath; you’ll then cross the Route du Mesnil, continuing along the footpath. Then turn right to walk round the small park, ending up, once you’ve completed the short circular loop, at the corner of Rue Albert Einstein.
(3) Take this road south towards the Grafenhainichen roundabout (a German town twinned with Élancourt). Go round the roundabout on the right and carry on straight ahead along Avenue de la Petite Villedieu (southwards). You’ll arrive back at the Commanderie des Templiers park.
(4) Turn left into the park. Turn right twice, then left to return to the car park (S/E)
