Park on Quai Kador. Find the Café du Port for the start of the route.
(S/E) Leave Quai Kador via the staircase next to the Café du Port. The staircase leads to a steep little street that climbs up the foot of Ménez Kador. The street serves the properties scattered on the slope facing Anse de Morgat. Follow Rue du Phare and, at a right-hand bend, continue along Rue de Ménez Kador for 400 metres.
(1) Triangular square. Turn left and go up Allée Forestière de Kreiz Kador, leaving a path on your left.
Turn right at the first opportunity and continue straight ahead until you find a path marked "Ty ar C'huré" on the left-hand corner.
Follow this direction, then after a right-hand bend, follow the path that runs along an embankment made up of large blocks of light-coloured sandstone. Continue along the edge of the maritime pine forest.
(2) In the middle of this line, there is a quadrangle made up of several dozen sandstone blocks, more or less upright, which bear the name Ty ar C'huré (the priest's house, in Breton). If this was his house, it must have been very rustic, this priest whose name has been preserved.
Continue straight ahead until you reach a T-junction. Turn right onto the forest track.
(3) Turn left and follow this road for 1.2 km. Pass a few property entrances. About 300 m after the last one on the left, turn left. Enter a sort of open clearing in a copse, which continues along a path through the moorland before leading to the coastal path. The path overlooks a slope that plunges down to the sea.
(4) Turn left to return towards Morgat. Pay attention to the path; take the time to admire the extraordinary landscape that unfolds on your right. Winding through the pine trees, you will reach the site of the Ile Vierge or Pointe de Saint-Hernot. Access to the small beach at the bottom of the cove is now prohibited in order to preserve this magnificent site.
(5) The path continues on the other side of the point through the same landscape of pine-covered moorland. It winds its way up the slope, around rocks or over them, always overlooking translucent water that changes colour with the sun.
(6) From the top of the Grande Roche, the view is impressive from the cliff overlooking the waves at a height of almost 90 metres. Continue along the edge, between the pine forest and the hillside dotted with gorse and heather, until you reach the two houses perched above Porzh Leon.
(7) Leave theGR® 34trail to go around the houses at the bottom and go up to the left along the lane that leads to the first house. At the crossroads, turn right and go past the second house. At the junction, go down to the right along the property fence. The passage is tricky for about ten metres before you reach the coastal path again.
This continues across the slope until you reach the Devil's Chimneys. Go around them, climbing the path that leads to a calvary, then take the lane on the right that leads to the Beg ar Gador lighthouse and the remains of the fort behind it.
(8) Ignore the path that descends to the right of the old guardhouse and go around the platform on the right to descend towards the old battery. Directly above the most beautiful sea caves, the path reaches a more recent battery and the fort that housed the garrison. From there, follow the path that slopes gently down above the harbour master's office to reach Quai Kador.
(9) Return to the starting point by following the quay (A/D).
