Access: On leaving Villalier, heading towards Carcassonne, take the road on the left signposted Les Cabanes dans les Bois (The Cabins in the Woods), which is the Chemin de Fourtou. You can park in the car park.
(S/E) From the Cabanes reception, follow the path downhill to the south.
(1) Turn right, then left onto the D201.
(2) Turn left onto the Villudubert road and follow it. Descend on the right towards the bridge over the Canal du Midi. At the Écluse de L'Évêque, cross the bridge.
(3) Follow the canal on the left. Continue along the canal on the cycle path to the Rue Riquet bridge.
(4) Cross the canal and turn left onto Rue Pierre Loti (watch out for traffic on the D610 road). At the roundabout, turn left onto the D101. Leave the road on the left that follows the canal and continue straight ahead until you reach a parking area on the left.
(5) Follow the path on the right that climbs towards Bouilhonnac. Pass under the power lines and ignore the other paths on both the right and left.
(6) In Bouilhonnac, take Rue du Château d'Eau on your left, which leads to the keep and ruins of the castle that dominates this surprising old village. Go around the keep and descend to the right via Rue du Donjon, then left and right again along the small church. Take Rue du Parc on the left.
(7) Turn right onto the road signposted "Chemin Notre-Dame-des-Champs" towards Villedubert. Continue straight on until you reach the D101, which you follow for 50 metres to the right.
(8) Turn left onto the path passing near Horte de Marcaillou, then turn left again towards Villedubert via Route d'Orbiel (D201). Continue to the village. At the D801, turn right and pass the town hall and school.
(9) Turn right onto Chemin des Amandiers, which will take you to Voie Dominiae, turning left.
(10) Follow the Voie Dominiae to the left for 300 metres.
(1) Turn right to go back up to the reception area of Les Cabanes dans les Bois, via the lane opposite Château de Fourtou (S/E).
