Description of the walk

Park at the stadium car park, located on Rue du Stade.

(S/E) Walk round the multi-purpose hall on the left and cross the children’s playground. Cross the bridge over the Canner and join the cycle path.

(1) Follow it to the left towards Elzange.

(2) When you reach the right-angled bend, carry on straight ahead along the path to reach Griesberg.

(3) Carry on straight ahead along the path which runs alongside the Canner.

(4) Turn left, cross over the Canner to join the D2 at the Cité des Officiers.

(5) Cross the D2 carefully, then take Rue de la Carrière on the left. Keep heading in the same direction, staying more or less parallel to the D2, then veer off to the right after the last houses. This takes you round the Nonnenberg.

(6) Take the path on the left to enter the Bois de Koenigsmacker and climb diagonally up to reach a junction. Turn right at a 90° angle, pass the highest point and join a wider path.

(7) Continue to the left, then turn right at the three-way junction that appears about a hundred metres further on. Begin the descent to reach a small tarmac road (Rue des Forts) and carry on in the same direction. Leave the woods and arrive at a junction.

(8) Leave the road and follow a path to the right; ignore the first path on the left and take the next one, then continue across the fields to reach a magnificent viewpoint over the Moselle valley and the Duchy of Luxembourg.

(9) Carry on along the track, turn left at the edge of the woods and reach the first houses in Métrich.

(10) Follow the path to the left, which leads onto Rue d’Oudrenne (D68). Follow it to the left and walk alongside it, then cross over to head towards Saint-Hubert’s Church and continue to the community centre.

(11) Turn left onto Rue de Écoles, turn right onto Rue de Trèves and continue along Rue de Sierck. Carry on to the junction with Rue de la Côte, turn left, emerge onto Rue de l’Église and turn left again to reach Saint-Martin’s Church.

(12) Walk round the building on the left, carry on straight ahead at the T-junction, then turn right onto Rue des Nouveaux Jardins.

(13) Take Rue de la Chapelle on the left, then turn left again onto Rue Saint-Martin. Just past a car park, turn left at the edge of a wooded area and follow the housing estates on your right.

(14) Turn right, go to the end of the street and first turn right then left to join Rue du Stade D2. Cross it to reach the car park (S/E).
