Start from the lower car park at the Port d'Alon cove.
(S/E) From the car park, head east towards the customs path and turn left, heading north until you reach a junction.
(1) Go up on the left and then immediately right onto the "sentier des vignes" (Chemin de Paramido). From there, just follow the small "sentier des vignes" signs, as the map is not very accurate. The signs will take you through the vineyards to an intersection.
(2) On the right, the Chemin Privé du Merle takes you back to the Port d'Alon road, passing a stone's throw from Don Bosco College.
(3) Continue straight ahead and, at the end of Chemin du Merle, go under the railway bridge and take Chemin Privé du Pont Long.
(4) Continue straight ahead on this path until the end and follow a well-marked dirt track that winds through the vineyards and then along the Frégate golf course (blue route). Once again, the GPX route appears somewhat erratic, but it is difficult to go wrong on this well-marked path.
(5) Take the path that continues along the railway line and does not appear on the IGN map.
(6) At this intersection, keep right, which will take you to Roustagnon, our giant of the day. Continue straight ahead until you reach a small path that climbs up to the right.
(7) Keep climbing straight ahead towards the top of Roustagnon. Take the track on the right that descends towards Bandol and enjoy the magnificent view.
(8) Continue straight ahead on Rue de l'Équinoxe through the first houses in Bandol until you reach a footbridge on the right that crosses the railway line. Turn right, then left and head towards the coast straight ahead for 800 metres, passing beautiful villas and buildings in Bandol.
Take a side street after crossing Avenue du Littoral to reach Chemin de la Douane.
(9) Head left, following the coastline towards the peninsula.
(10) Presqu'Île de Capelan, a little gem of a landscape, could be a nice spot for a picnic before returning to Port d'Alon. To return, take Chemin de la Douane in the opposite direction until you reach the crossroads.
(9) Continue along the Chemin de la Douane, which runs along the coast.
(11) Pass by an imposing "tourist apartment block" with a small private harbour. Continue along the coastline.
You will reach a pretty little beach.
(12) Begin the climb to Pointe des Engraviers while enjoying the view. Continue along the coastline.
The path, sometimes through pine trees and sometimes overlooking the coast, offers beautiful views of the sapphire sea and La Galère, a spectacular little peninsula that looks like a submarine.
Follow the railway line. Then, continuing close to the coast, you will come to a track and, passing a house on your right, you will find the path that descends to the car park (S/E).
You can also continue straight ahead and go around the Port d'Alon cove, which will add a good kilometre to the route.
