Starting point: Pointe Saint Mathieu car park.
GR®34white and red markings
(S/E) From the car park, follow the signs for the cenotaph towards the west. The route goes around the National Memorial to Sailors who died for France
(1) Continue until you reach the path that goes around the lighthouse and the abbey
(2). Turn left to pass in front of the Notre-Dame de Grâce chapel and its porch. Pass the monolithic cross that marks the start of the Way of St James. Follow theGR®34 traileastwards to reach the rocky outcrop of Les Rospects, where a German blockhouse has been converted into a viewpoint.
(3) There are some difficult-to-access coves along the route. At the top of the cliff, stones with holes in them were once used to haul seaweed.
(4) Continue to Vaéré and its conical landmark, then the Keryunan beach.
(5) Leave the small road on your left and follow the coastal path that winds its way along the top of high, steep cliffs cut by numerous narrow, deep coves. Pass Pointe de Créac'h Meur and its military ruins. Continue along the Polizan cove, where you will have a view of Pointe de Penhir and the Tas de Pois on the Crozon peninsula. Continuing eastwards, you will see Fort de Bertheaume.
(6) Shortly afterwards, the coastal path leaves the seafront, turning left to join Rue de Poulizan, where you turn right to gradually reach Fort de Bertheaume, following the various car parks that line the coastal path.
(7) Go around this point and you will reach Perzl Beach and its slipway (ideal for a break).

(8) Opposite the beach, take a path that climbs uphill and continues along the Chemin de la Colonie (it runs alongside a large holiday camp). Continue straight ahead, cross Rue de Bertheaume to reach Rue du Plateau.

(9) Make a small detour to the left to see an old landmark, then return and continue left along Chemin de la Belle Cordelière.
(10) At the end of the path, turn right onto the road, then left to reach the village of Keruyan on the right.
(11) Follow the road on the left down to the beach and turn right at the second road towards Trémeur.
(12) Continue left towards Kérarc'hleuz and just before, head south downhill to Gaudina and Saint-Marzin. Go up 300 metres on the right towards Kerouman and then downhill to the left towards Kerautret.
(13) On the left, a magnificent garden is kindly open to visitors (don't hesitate to ask). On leaving, continue straight ahead towards Kerautret (leave the road that descends to Le Vaéré on your left). Pass through the village.
(14) Turn right towards the D85: you will see two white landmarks and the former command post, which has been converted into a museum. At the road, take the cycle path on the left.
(15) On your right, you will see the two Christianised steles. On the left, follow Rue Antre Kear to return to the car park. (S/E).
