Start at the crossroads at the bottom of Rue de Rèves, in Buzet.
(S/E) Take Rue de Rèves. The cobbled street runs alongside Ferme Saint-Nicolas and then becomes a dirt track. It can be difficult in wet weather. The path leads to a high point at a four-way crossroads.
(1) Turn right and follow the ridge line. The path curves to the left. You will arrive at a T-junction.
(2) Turn right heading north. Bordered by hedges on both sides, the path leads to Ferme Corbison. Continue straight ahead. At the bottom of the path, there is another farm on the right, La Cense du Caillou.
(3) Take Rue de la Buscaille on your left and cross the hamlet of La Buscaille, then Commune. The street changes name and becomes Rue Commune. Walk alongside a stream, the Buzet, which runs sometimes in a vaulted passage and sometimes in the open air, behind the houses on the west side of the street. The street leads to a farm known by several names: Ferme Vyvermans, Ferme Paternotte or Ferme du Grand Marcha. Go around the farm on the left. When you reach the Obaix cemetery, follow the path uphill on the left, the Chemin de l'Escalot. Halfway up the hill, another path crosses the Chemin de l'Escalot.
(4) Take this new path to the right. In wet weather, this path may be partially flooded, in which case you will need to walk around the flooded areas along the embankments. After a few hundred metres, the path becomes tarmac. Just before the Charleroi-Brussels railway line, turn right at the intersection and cross the bridge.
(5) At the end of the bridge, turn right onto the tarmac path that runs down alongside the railway line. But before you do, take a look at the Chapel of Our Lady of Lourdes, or Chapel of Jean le Boucher.
At the bottom of the slope, the road curves to the left. Pass in front of the Calvary of the Fountain of Our Lady of Celles. Water still seeps from it even during droughts.
(6) At the bottom of the path, at the three-way junction, turn right along the Buzet. After 50 metres, at the next three-way junction, turn left and go up to the cobbled street, Rue du Village (there is a grocery shop on the left where you can buy drinks if necessary). Turn right onto the cobbled street. Pass in front of the Ferme du Quartier (no. 94) and continue straight ahead. Shortly after the farm, at the T-junction, you will see a concrete path at the corner of Rue des Deux Chapelles and Rue du Village. Take this path towards an old windmill that has been converted into a private residence. When you reach the mill, take the path that runs alongside it to the north-east (along the brick wall of the neighbouring farm).
(7) You will arrive at a small square that runs alongside the railway line. Cross this square and, at the other end, take the path that runs alongside the railway fence. This path leads to a new neighbourhood (Quartier du Mai). Cross it by following the road in front of you.
(8) At the exit of this new neighbourhood, follow (with caution) the tarmac road to the right. After the third house on this street, there is a path on the right. Before that, note the Notre-Dame de Bon Secours Chapel (Belgian Monumental Heritage) on the other side of the road.
The path leads to the railway line. Turn left and then right to cross the bridge. Further on, a new road appears on the left, Rue Haute.
(9) Turn left onto this street. At the end of the straight section, after about 200 metres, continue to the right along Rue Cardinal Mercier. Cross over the Ruisseau du Buzet stream. Note the row of willow trees along the stream: this is one of the most beautiful views in Buzet.
When you reach a three-way junction at the bottom of the square, turn left onto a small one-way street that leads to Rue de l'Escaille, almost opposite the Ferme de l'Escaille (Belgian Monumental Heritage).
Go up Rue de l'Escaille on the right to return to the starting point of the route (S/E).
