Start in Dinard, Rue André Chapron, a quiet street with ample parking.
(S/E) Head east, continue straight ahead at the junction and join the cycle path.
(1) You can either turn right onto the greenway or take the small parallel street. In both cases, head to the boulevard and turn left. Go round the next roundabout and follow Rue des Anciens Combattants straight ahead. At the end of the street, turn right towards the park.
(2) The park entrance is on the left, between two old pillars. It leads to a tennis club. A little further down on the left is a car park; walk straight across it to reach a small gate. From there, walk down through the park to exit at the opposite end, near the children’s playground. You will then reach Plage du Prieuré.
(3) Follow theGR® signposting to the left. After passing Dinard harbour and then the Yacht Club, head towards Pointe du Moulinet, passing an SNSM station at Cale de la Vallée.
(4) Look out for the path entrance, which is in the parapet, just before you reach a small clearing. Between this point and Plage de l’Écluse, the path may be submerged at high tide. In this case, head to the beach via the narrow streets. Continue along theGR® to Plage de Saint-Énogat.
(5) To avoid walking on the dry sand of this beach, take the path on the left which starts with a few steps and leads slightly back up above the path. This takes you to a garden, from which there is a magnificent view. At the top of the garden, turn right and follow a route of streets and alleys running parallel to the coast to reach the other side of the beach. Head back towards the town centre, leaving the beach behind you, and turn right at the top, just above a large fountain. After the church, at a fork in the road, take the right-hand branch. Pass two dead-end streets and turn right. You will then rejoin theGR® path, which runs past the thalassotherapy centre.
(6) The final few metres of the path before reaching Port Blanc may also be impassable at high tide. TheGR® passes through the campsite, along the path closest to the beach.
(7) At Plage de la Fourberie, there is no longer a path. You must cross the entire beach to reach a stone staircase. This section may also be inaccessible at high tide. Continue along theGR®. After passing Pointe du Nick, you will reach the Grande Plage de Saint-Lunaire.
(8) It is usually possible to cross the stream without having to go back up to the road and the small bridge. Continue on the other side to Pointe du Décollé.
(9) After a short round trip to the tip of the headland, continue along theGR®, skirting Longchamp Beach. At the end of the beach, you’ll find the path leading to the highest point of the walk: Pointe de la Garde Guérin.
(10) Magnificent views from Cap Fréhel to Pointe du Grouin. Continue along theGR®, pass Pointe de la Haye and head towards Saint-Briac. The coastal section ends at the foot of Château du Nessay.
(11) Walk around the next beach (Plage du Béchay) and head uphill, either via the road or the parallel footpath. You’ll reach a crossroads with bars on one side. Turn right as you go uphill towards the village of Saint-Briac (Grande Rue). As you enter the village, you’ll come to a small square on the right and a post office on the left. Just after the post office, the road splits in two.
(12) Take the left-hand branch (Rue des Préaux). From there, continue in the same direction to Dinard, following a route from Saint-Briac to Dinard recommended for cyclists and regularly signposted. Along the way, pass through the hamlets of La Ville au Coq, La Ville Agan and Le Pont. Enter Dinard after passing a riding school on the right and blockhouses on either side of the road. Continue to a large roundabout on a boulevard
(13) Take Boulevard du Villou on the right. Continue until the boulevard splits into two around a central reservation and join Rue André Chapron on the left, marked by a clearly visible sign. It is closed to motor vehicles at this end, which serves as a good landmark. Follow it to the car park (S/E).
