From Coignières to Saint-Rémy-lès-Chevreuse

Description of the walk

Departure from Coignières Station (Transilien N line).

(S) With your back to the station, take the Levis-Saint-Nom road, then turn right.

(1) Turn left onto Chemin des Rigoles Royales and follow the Rigole du Lit de la Rivière on the left, with Étang du Val Favry on the right.

(2) Cross the small bridge over the canal on the right, then take the second street on the right, Route de Levis-Saint-Nom.

(3) Turn left onto Chemin de Bellepanne through the fields, at the edge of the woods turn right and cross the Rivière du Pommeret. Walk along the hamlet of Bois du Fay through the Vallée de Favry, following the river for about 1 km. Leave the river on your left and continue straight ahead. Pass in front of the Ferme de Bellepanne, continue along Chemin des Fonds de Bellepanne to the hamlet of Le Pommeret.

(4) Turn right, then immediately left, cross the hamlet, walk along an old pond on your left, then turn left at the entrance to Colombier, cross the river and take the D58 on the right.

(5) At Les Marronniers, turn right onto the D58, ignore the paths on the left and continue straight ahead.

(6) Turn left, then shortly after the sign, turn right onto the discovery trail via a wooden pontoon over the Marais de Lavagot. Pass in front of the guard house.

(7) At the barrier, take the old mill dyke on the left.

(8) Turn right, pass in front of the wash house taking the GR®11, then in front of the Moulin des Roches. Continue straight ahead towards the Source aux Fées, then towards the Moulin de Chatillon.

(9) Turn left, then immediately right, passing through the Forêt Départementale de la Butte Ronde.

(10) Go up to the left towards the Maison Rouge, then left along the Chemin des Écoliers.

(11) Turn right at the hairpin bend and enter the woods. Continue for about 1 km.

(12) When you reach a road, turn left, then immediately right onto a small path (be careful, it is not very visible) towards the Grand Maison.

(13) Enter the woods on the right. Chemin la Ruelle aux Bœufs is straight ahead until Jagny, then veers slightly to the left. Continue for about 1.5 km until you reach the first houses in Chevreuse.

(14) Before the cemetery, take a path on the left that leads to Rue du 8 Mai 1945.

(15) Follow it to the right, then take Rue Jean Mermoz on the left. Pass in front of the Philippe Dugué Hospital and the EHPAD .

(16) Opposite the Irène Juliot Curie nursery school, turn left, then further on, turn right onto Rue de Versailles. Shortly before Saint-Martin Church, turn right and arrive at the back of the church, then continue along Passage du Prieuré. Take Rue de la Division Leclerc on the right for a few metres, then turn left onto Rue des Mandars.

(17) At Yvette, at the wash house, take the path on the left and follow it for about 800 metres, crossing one road and then another.

(18) Cross Rue de l'Yvette and continue opposite on the river until you reach a road.

(19) Take Rue des Ponts Blonniers on the right and arrive opposite the Ferme de Coubertin (visits possible in the afternoon).

(20) Follow the road to the left towards Saint-Remy-lès-Chevreuse via the cycle and footpath to arrive at Saint-Rémy-Lès-Chevreuse station (E).
