(S/E) From the car park, with Notre-Dame Church on your right, follow the road to join the D48, then turn right and continue for 30 m. In the left-hand bend, turn right at the information sign, leaving the main road to the south-west.
(1) Follow the track straight ahead before passing a property a few metres further on.
Cross a first stream (Còrrec de Llana) and reach a three-way junction (elevation 254).
(2) When the track in front of you is "blocked" by a gate to private property, descend to the right along a stony track for about 75 m until you reach the start of a path on the left.
(3) * When the track descends more steeply to the right, take the path on the left and stay at the top (contour line 240 m). Cross the stream and climb up a steep, enclosed path. You will reach a track at a multiple crossroads with gateposts.
- * If you reach a sign indicating that the path is closed, climb up opposite (south) and find the correct path, which is well maintained and has a recent sign indicating Camélas.
(4) Turn left, continuing north-west. Pass the wash house and enter Camélas. Leave the village centre on your right. Look for a sign for Chapelle St Marti.
(5) Turn left at the intersection and climb a little. Stay on the DFCI A77 track. Just after a hairpin bend, continue for about a hundred metres before taking a path that climbs to the left (be careful as the path is not very visible).
(6) Climb up through the heath and continue on to a pass at the foot of the Sant Marti de la Roca Chapel. Climb up to the chapel to enjoy a magnificent 360° view.
(7) Return to the pass and descend along the track to rejoin the main track at Coll de la Roca.
You can follow the ridge and go to altitude 522 (Catalan flag present on 16 April 2023).
(8) Turn left. You will come to a junction with several private tracks.
(9) Cross the concrete ford and turn left onto the DFCI A78 track, which descends, while continuing to admire the chapel located to the north on the rocky ridge.
Continue along the track to reach the Mas del Pouil junction.
(10) Follow it straight ahead for about 150 metres before joining the D48. Follow it to the left on the hard shoulder for about 450 metres until you reach a fork with a track on the left that is flat at the start.
(11) Follow the ridge track, which then climbs to an altitude of 364. Next, descend via a steep path and turn right at the junction to rejoin the D48 and the sign for the entrance to the village of Castelnou.
(12) Turn left for a few metres, then right at the intersection to enter the village. Stroll around the village to visit it, then leave via Carrer del Mig to return to the church and end your outing (S/E).
Difficult to find the start. Trails cluttered, dirty, impassable. No markings until you reach the track.
