From Brillac to Porh Neze

A short stage of the Tour du Golfe du Morbihan (TGM), from Brillac in the municipality of Sarzeau to Porh Neze in the municipality of Arzon. Magnificent views of the southern part of the gulf: Île-aux-Moines, the Brannec, Gohivan and Stibiden islands. Swimming is possible in the summer, particularly at Anse du Logéo and Porh Neze. The coastline is mainly muddy along the route, but there are a few beaches. In winter, there are plenty of birds to spot.

Description of the walk

A small car park is available near the Brillac picnic area. In the summer months, particularly from mid-July to mid-August, it can fill up quickly as the walk is very popular. If needed, a larger car park is available near the other picnic area, close to the Pont du Lindin, at the point (1).

(S/E) Take the coastal path, markedGR®®34, immediately on the right from Rue Saint-Maur. Follow it to the Lindin Bridge, passing by the other picnic area.

(1) Cross the bridge and rejoin the path immediately on the right towards Pointe de Bréhuidic. The path runs along the water’s edge before joining a road.

(2) At the end of the road, turn left (west) at Bréhuidic Beach. The headland is private property. The well-marked path follows the coast and joins the large Anse de Logéo (car park).

(3) Follow the entire length of this cove, which is very well laid out for walking. At Port du Logéo, veer slightly off the signposted path to reach the end of the harbour. Then rejoin the path via a flight of steps. Continue towards the headland.

(4) Continue westwards. The path passes an oyster farm where tastings are available.

(5) Option: once you reach this junction, you can take the Impasse de la Pointe du Logéo, return to the harbour and head back the way you came to shorten the walk. In our opinion, the first part of the route is the most beautiful.
Otherwise , continue along the path. Please note that between points (5) and (8), the path may be flooded in places during winter, although there are alternative routes available.

(6) At the junction with Route de Kermaillard, turn right and head west on the GR®34.

(7) Follow the coastal path to the junction with the Chemin de Toul Karrezec.

(8) You arrive at Port Nèze, which has a small beach. You can retrace your steps for a longer route, or follow the route suggested by the Chemin de Toul Karrezec to reach Port du Logéo more quickly.

(9) Following the path, just after the junction with Route de Kermaillard, take a track that passes close to the Kermaillard Menhir, a prehistoric site of interest.

(6) Continuing along this path, head back via Route de Kermaillard to the junction you passed on the way out. To reach Port du Logéo quickly, continue along Route de Kermaillard to the roundabout.

(10) Continue along the Route du Port du Logéo, and follow the outward route in the opposite direction. If necessary, follow theGR®®34signposts to the car park (S/E).

Notes

Be wary of high tides, especially in rough weather, as parts of the path may be submerged. Check tide times and heights before setting off! From November to April, after rainfall, many sections of the path are very muddy, particularly between Pointe du Logéo and Porh Neze.

There are several points with public toilets and taps for filling water bottles: in the car park near the Pont du Lindin, in at least one of the car parks at Anse du Logéo (3) and at Port du Logéo.

Near Pointe du Logéo, there are two oyster farms offering tastings (in season). Similarly, there are several businesses open in season at Port du Logéo (restaurants, water sports such as kayaking, and more).

The first section of the walk between Brillac and Pointe du Logéo is very well maintained. In our opinion, it is also the most beautiful. From Pointe du Logéo to Porh Neze, the path is much muddier and far less well maintained. Sturdy shoes, or even boots during the rainy season, are essential.

Worth a visit

Port du Logéo is a very pleasant spot with a few information boards on the area’s history and various activities on offer during the tourist season. The route passes close to the Kermaillard Menhir, a site that has been developed and is open to the public.

Throughout the walk, take your time to admire the scenery, particularly the light at sunrise and sunset.
