If you are coming by car, you can park in the car park by the lake.
(S/E) When leaving the car park, go around Lac du Ronzey on the right, then walk along the football pitch until you reach a road near the cemetery and school.
(1) When you see the cemetery in front of you, turn right twice and continue straight ahead, keeping to the right. The road climbs slightly.
(2) Continue along the road that veers towards a place called Le Plat and ignore the other paths. When the road turns left, take the small path on your right that goes downhill. Walk along the road for a while, overlooking it. Enjoy the shade provided by the woods.
(3) Cross the Garon.
(4) Cross the road carefully and continue along the same path until you reach the next crossroads.
(5) When you reach the intersection with the road, take the path on your right that goes uphill towards the Bois de la Lienne. Then, pay attention at the intersections. At the first one, turn left, and at the second one, take the path in front of you.
(6) Turn right at theGR®7and follow it northwards.
(7) First turn right then left to stay on theGR®7and arrive at Col des Brosses.
(8) Continue straight ahead, crossing the D489. TheGR® turns right and crosses the D25 before turning right to follow a stretch of water.
(9) Continue and join a small road at a place called Les Avergnes.
(10) Just after this locality, at the cross, turn right onto the road. Leave theGR®7for theGR® de Pays Tour des Monts du Lyonnais. Be careful at the intersection with another road and take the path opposite you that goes uphill. After a long stretch through the woods, you will arrive at the Croix de Pars and its pass.
(11) Take the road in front of you, then the path on your left.
(12) Take the road on the right towards the Chapelle Saint-Clair.
(13) Continue along the road until you reach an intersection.
(14) Follow the path in front of you that climbs towards the woods and Crêt de la Madonne. Then descend from Crêt to Yzeron. The descent is quite steep in places. Join the Route des Crêtes.
(15) Take the Montée des Bruyères opposite and descend through the town.
(16) With the lake in sight, return to your starting point by following the Route de la Rivière. Take advantage of the lake to rest (S/E).
