Car park near Monpazier primary school.
(S/E) After leaving the car park, follow the D660 to the left towards Beaumont-du-Périgord for about 300 metres, then take a small road on the right (yellow sign). Walk along the racecourse and continue straight ahead on a grassy path. You will see the Château de Marsalès on your left (private estate).
(1) Turn left onto an old dirt track flanked by stone walls. Join the road and follow it to the right for about 300 metres.
(2) Leave the road and take a grassy path on the left at the edge of a large cultivated plot. Continue through the woods and cross the small road that leads to the hamlet of Fontenelle. Go back down into the woods.
(3) Keep to the left and follow a path through the undergrowth at the bottom of the valley until you reach a forest track (white limestone surface).
(4) Follow the forest track to the right, which winds along the edge of a very pretty valley.
(5) Where the track joins an asphalt road, take a small path on the left (yellow signpost) which leads to the D26E through the woods. Cross the D26E and turn right onto the road towards the hamlet of Péchaud.
(6) When you reach the oratory, turn left to join theGR® 36, which you will follow to return to Monpazier.
(7) Turn left at the waste collection centre and continue along theGR® which crosses the D26E.
(8) At the rugby field, turn left onto the D660 towards Monpazier and arrive at the starting point in the car park opposite the primary school (S/E).
, on the way back, in the woods, there has been recent clear-cutting and the trail is difficult to see and cluttered with tree trunks and branches... there are no longer any markings.
