From Plan de Cuques, take the D908 towards the village of Le Logis Neuf. At the roundabout, turn left onto Avenue Jean Moulin (school and fire station on the left) and follow the signs for the shooting range. Pass the shooting range and an underground cistern to park in the shaded Lou Limas car park on the left of the old Mimet road. Please note that the road is quite bumpy.
(S/E) Take the red marked trail to the right of the large green gate. Walk along a beautiful terraced field planted with olive trees, then pass by the ruins of Jas de Mimet.
(1) Turn right after the ruins. The path climbs then descends, winding several times to the left and right. At the bottom of the path, turn left and you will come to a fork.
(2) Take the wide path to the right of the fork, which narrows more and more to give way to a stream bed with large rock slabs that are sometimes wet and slippery. Take care. The vegetation becomes increasingly dense but does not hinder progress. You will arrive at a clearing with a swing and discover the Grotte des Ermites (Hermits' Cave) on the right, ruins on the left, and a little further on, some old (empty) basins.
(3) Continue along the path, keeping to the right. Join the tarmac road to Mimet just opposite the imposing Notre-Dame des Anges building. Turn left onto the road and follow it, enjoying the magnificent views. After several hairpin bends, you will reach a crossroads.
(4) Turn right onto the track that passes by an electricity pylon and climbs steadily. At the end of the track, turn left onto the small path that climbs towards the Bau Trauqua ridges. At the crossroads, turn left, following the blue markings to reach the two orientation tables. Admire the 360° view. Look for an antenna on the left, on the Sainte-Anne pass side.
(5) Head into the vegetation to the left of this antenna to see cavities closed off by bars. Return to the path, heading towards Col Sainte-Anne. Be careful, the descent is difficult, so follow the blue markings carefully. Reach Col Sainte-Anne.
(6) At the Col Sainte Anne oratory, turn left to descend towards the tarmac road to Mimet and reach the hunters' car park.
(7) Leave the road and turn right onto the path, passing under a power line. Keep to the left and pass by a fire station. The path becomes less obvious as it enters a rocky area. The markings are white and pale green. Turn right as you pass a large rock. Be careful to follow the white and pale green markings. Descend steadily to pass under a rock forming an arch. Use your hands to help you reach this natural shelter on the left.
(8) Behind this shelter is the Grotte du Facteur, which has been converted into a place of contemplation. Cross it and take the path that descends sharply to the left, then climbs up the other side of the valley to reach the Baume des Pieds Ferrés. Climb up to the left and walk about 30 metres to discover a small spring (stream) in a hollow in the rock on the right. Turn back and resume the route, going around the cave.
(9) On the right, on an esplanade, you will see the rock called the King's Tomb, which bears a striking resemblance to a tomb. A few metres further on, on the left, is a cave. All around are other strangely shaped rocks. Descend into the valley. At the bottom, turn left and follow the red markings. Pass a spring with a sign saying "water is rare and precious". You will arrive at the fork you passed on the way up.
(2) Turn right and retrace your steps to return to thefirst crossroads you passed on the way up.
(1) Leave the path you took on the way up on your left and turn right. Join a DFCI track and go up to the left.
(10) Leave the road and turn right to descend towards the Besson Well, visible from the top of the road. At the well, turn left and follow the path that runs alongside the road to return to the Lou Limas car park (S/E).
