Description of the walk

Park in the after-school care car park on Rue Principale in Hagenthal-le-Haut.

(S/E) With your back to the car park, along Rue Principale, head left towards the school. At the end of the street, first turn right then left and follow the Chemin de Heiligenbrunn due south (GR®531, marked with a Blue Rectangle). Pass in front of a large farm and continue towards the forest. Pass the water pumping station and follow the path through the forest. Take a wide hairpin bend; at the next bend, ignore the path on the left leading to Hagenthal-le-Bas. Keep to the right and you’ll reach a fork.

(1) Turn right onto the path, which is no longer signposted. Continue straight on towards the west along this wide path. Ignore the two paths on the right that lead back down to Hagenthal-le-Haut, as well as the paths on the left. Continue along the path that turns right; at the end of the next bend, you will reach a fork.

(2) Turn left, heading due north, and follow the Blue Ring marked path which turns right and runs parallel to the road towards Bettlach. You will reach the edge of the forest.

(3) Turn left then right and, after a final 90° bend, you will reach the road connecting Hagenthal to Bettlach (D12b4).

(4) Cross it carefully by going left then right; further on, ignore the access road to the Lindenhof farm on the left (picnic table on the left) and follow the road to the right until the next junction.

(5) Take the small road on the right that leads down towards the village, Rue du Lindenhof. Continue to the end of the street to the junction with Route de Ferrette

(6) Cross it (pedestrian crossing on the right) then turn left and walk for about 50 metres. Turn right onto Rue du Hofacker and follow it to the end, to the junction with Rue de l’École.

(7) Follow it to the left until you reach the junction in front of the school. Turn left to reach the car park (S/E).
